Key responsibilities

  • Own the marketing strategy, including channel mix, campaign roadmap, and messaging, to drive awareness, engagement, and community growth.

  • Plan and coordinate marketing campaigns, decide on campaign timing and objectives, and work with team members and contractors to execute them.

  • Set and track performance metrics, analyze results, and adjust strategies to optimize marketing effectiveness.

Job description

We're hiring a Marketing Strategist to own the direction of our marketing — the strategy, channel mix, and campaign roadmap that drive awareness, engagement, and community growth as we prepare for public launch.

Summary
  • Flexible Title: Can tailor to reflect your skills & experience.
  • Flexible Time: Can do full-time, part-time, side-gig (off-hours), or fractional (contract).
  • Flexible Commitment: Can do short-term, long-term, or intermittent.

Why so flexible? We're a FUNDED startup racing to launch end of Q3 2026. That gives us just 3 months to stack features while raising additional working capital. Feel free to jump in, help us ship, then bounce >> or stick around. A successful launch translates into lots of permanent jobs for those that want them. We're also interested in long-term "side gig" relationships, if that's what you're into—in our experience, a few expert hours often beat full-time learning-curve hours.

About Us

We're a credible, funded, remote-first startup backed by a growing team. We're pre-launch and moving fast.

About The Role

This is the next step up from a coordinator seat: instead of running the day-to-day, you're setting the direction. We need someone who can own marketing strategy end to end — decide which channels to invest in, build the campaign roadmap, define the messaging, and own the numbers that tell us whether it's working — while we sprint toward public launch.

You'll set the plan and drive it, working closely with our GTM team and coordinating the people (and tools) who execute it. This is ideal for someone with 4-6+ years of marketing experience who has graduated from "run the tasks" to "own the outcomes" and wants real ownership without waiting years for the title.

You'll answer: Where should we be spending our marketing energy? What's the campaign roadmap to launch? What's our message, and is it landing? What's working, what isn't, and what do we change?

Compensation

Up to $120,000 max total annual compensation in Tier 1 cities; cash and equity components to be negotiated. Given the flexible commitment model, comp will be structured accordingly — fractional or hourly arrangements welcome.

What You'll Do in Your First 30 Days
  • You've audited our current channels, campaigns, and messaging and delivered a clear read on what's working and what isn't
  • You've defined a prioritized channel mix and campaign roadmap through launch, with clear owners and reporting
  • You've sharpened our core messaging and positioning for the launch push
  • You've stood up (or cleaned up) the metrics that tell us whether marketing is working
  • The team shares one clear picture of the marketing priorities and how we'll measure them
What You'll Do Ongoing
  • Own marketing strategy — set the channel mix, campaign roadmap, and priorities that drive awareness and growth
  • Direct campaign planning — decide what campaigns we run, when, and why; brief and coordinate the people who execute them
  • Own messaging and positioning — define how we talk about the product across channels and keep it consistent
  • Own the numbers — set targets, track performance, and make the call on what to double down on, fix, or cut
  • Coordinate execution — work with coordinators, creators, and contractors (and the GTM team) to get the plan shipped on time
  • Report to leadership — translate marketing activity into a clear story on results and what's next
What We're Looking For

Must-haves:

  • 4-6+ years of marketing experience with a track record of owning strategy or campaigns end to end, not just executing tasks
  • Can build a channel strategy and campaign roadmap from a business goal — and defend the trade-offs
  • Strong on messaging and positioning — you can define a voice and keep it consistent across channels
  • Data-driven — you set targets, read the metrics, and change course based on what they tell you
  • Organized and self-directed — you can own outcomes and coordinate others without heavy oversight
  • Strong async communicator — you document decisions and keep the team aligned

Nice-to-have:

  • Startup or small-team experience where you owned marketing with limited resources
  • Hands-on comfort across channels (social, email, content, paid) so you can lead credibly
  • Experience coordinating freelancers, contractors, or a small team
  • Comfortable in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
What You're NOT
  • Not a task-only executor — this is an ownership seat; you set direction, not just run the calendar someone else built
  • Not a solo marketing department — you'll direct and coordinate, but you'll have a GTM team and support around you
  • Not a pure brand/creative role — you'll own strategy and messaging, but we're not hiring for graphic design
