Job description

Are you passionate about empowering teams with low-code solutions and AI-assisted tools in a safe and secure environment? As a Power Platform Administrator at Gas South, you will play a pivotal role on our Infrastructure team by managing and optimizing our Microsoft Power Platform environment and Microsoft 365 Copilot services. In this position, you will administer and monitor Power Platform applications (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Virtual Agents) and emerging AI features like Copilot Studio/Agent 365, ensuring they operate smoothly, securely, and in alignment with enterprise policies. You will work closely with Security, IT Service Operations, and Leadership teams to implement standards, and with internal developers and business users to support innovation. We are seeking candidates who are detail-oriented, proactive, and collaborative, with a strong commitment to operational excellence. The ideal candidate has a blend of technical acumen in cloud platform administration and a service-oriented mindset, ready to help Gas South leverage next-generation tools safely and effectively.

Are You a Fit?

Additional Responsibilities
  • Administer the Power Platform Ecosystem: Oversee all Power Platform environments (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI integration) including environment provisioning, configuration, and maintenance. Manage tenant settings (e.g., data integration, capacity quotas, updates) to ensure platform health and performance.
  • Microsoft 365 Copilot Administration: Serve as the administrator for Microsoft 365 Copilot (Copilot and Agent in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center) and Copilot Studio (Power Platform Admin Center) within the organization. Configure and manage Copilot features and settings according to business needs and policy (enabling/disabling capabilities, managing authorized user access). Approve and operationalize Copilot agents created by business units, ensuring they meet security and compliance requirements before deployment. Manage and reduce Agent Sprawl across the environment.
  • Platform Support & Troubleshooting: Act as a Tier-III support resource for issues related to Power Platform applications and Copilot usage. Work with internal developers and "citizen developers" to resolve complex platform problems, performing root-cause analysis and engaging Microsoft support if needed.
  • Application Lifecycle Management (ALM): Coordinate solution deployment and upgrades across development, test, and production environments. Manage Power Platform application lifecycle processes (e.g., solution import/export, version control) to support safe and controlled rollout of new apps, flows, and AI agents.
  • User Enablement & Best Practices: Collaborate with development teams and business stakeholders to promote best practices in building low-code solutions and integrating Copilot features. Provide guidance or small-scale assistance (e.g., templates, example solutions) to help teams accelerate projects while following governance guidelines.
  • Monitoring & Optimization: Utilize admin center tools and analytics to track platform utilization, performance metrics, and licensing. Report trends and propose optimizations (e.g., adjusting capacity, consolidating resources) to enhance efficiency and user experience.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Create and maintain documentation for platform configurations, administrative procedures, and usage guidelines. Contribute to the internal knowledge base and runbooks for Power Platform and Copilot administration.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with Identity and Access Management (Entra ID/Azure AD) administrators to ensure seamless integration of user provisioning and access controls. Partner with other members of the Infrastructure and Security teams to align platform settings with overall IT policies (such as data retention, incident response, and change management). Engage in regular change control processes for platform updates and communicate effectively with IT and business teams about any impacts.
Experience
  • 5+ years of IT experience, with at least 2-3 years focused on administering or supporting Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, etc.) in an enterprise environment.
  • Microsoft Fundamental certification(s) for Power Platforms and Copilot/Agent administration, such as the PL-900 (Power Platform Fundamentals) and the AB-900 (Copilot and Agent Administration).
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 Administration, including familiarity with Teams, SharePoint, or Exchange Online, and an understanding of how these services integrate with Power Platform and Copilot.
  • Strong knowledge of Azure AD (Entra ID) for managing users, groups, and application permissions, especially as it relates to Power Platform and Microsoft 365 services.
  • Proven ability to implement and enforce policies in technical platforms, working within frameworks established by security team and the business.
  • Experience monitoring and managing cloud service performance and capacity (usage analytics, license management, basic Azure or Power Platform monitoring).
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, capable of diagnosing complex platform issues and driving them to resolution collaboratively.
  • Effective communication and documentation skills, with the ability to produce clear admin guides, reports, and updates for both technical teams and management.
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
Preferred Experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Power Platform certification(s) such as the PL-200 (Power Platform Functional Consultant) and/or PL-600 (Power Platform Solution Architect).
  • Microsoft AI Builder certification(s) such as the AI-900/901 (Azure AI Fundamentals), AB-620 (AI Agent Builder Associate), and or AI-102 (Azure AI Engineer Associate).
  • ITIL Foundation certification or knowledge of IT Service Management best practices, indicating experience with structured change, incident, and problem management processes.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 Copilot and AI technologies in a business context (e.g., previous involvement in deploying AI-driven solutions or virtual assistants) is a strong plus.
  • Experience collaborating on low-code Center of Excellence (CoE) initiatives or contributing to governance boards for new technology rollouts.
  • Exposure to PowerShell scripting or automation tools for administrative task automation within Microsoft 365 or Azure environments.
