What does a freelance packaging designer do?

A freelance packaging designer creates visual and structural designs for product packaging on a contract basis. Their work involves understanding a brand's identity, selecting appropriate materials, and designing graphics that attract customers and comply with industry regulations. They often collaborate with clients to develop packaging solutions that are both functional and visually appealing. Freelance designers manage their own schedules, client communications, and project timelines.

What does a freelance packaging designer do?

As a freelance packaging designer, you do package design on an independent or contract basis. Your responsibilities focus on developing the design specifications that meet industry standards while staying cost-effective. You manufacture a brand that appeals to customers and has brand recognition. Your duties may also include developing package assembly instructions. A freelance packaging designer often communicates directly with the client or with various departments such as marketing, production engineering, or food packing.

Job description

Summary

Sweet Fish is a strategy-led B2B video partner for companies that want video to drive real business results.

We're hiring a Freelance Producer who can sit between strategy and production and confidently answer:

"If this is the strategy... how do we actually turn it into great video?"

This is a creative-operator seat with real ownership - you'll help guide a portfolio of clients through the production process, ensuring strong creative execution, smooth workflows, and owning the client experience from idea to delivery.

This is a high-growth role for someone in their career who wants to sharpen both their creative instincts and production leadership skills while working closely with large enterprise brands.

What You'll Do

You'll help execute production across a portfolio of B2B clients, ensuring strong creative output, smooth workflows, and a great client experience from idea to delivery. The most important part of this position sits in client management, including running calls and communications.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Acting as the day-to-day client contact and maintaining strong client relationships

- Turning show strategy into episode plans, outlines, and creative direction

- Contributing ideas for Shorts, social formats, and episode packaging (hooks, segments, angles)

- Managing production timelines and deliverables across editors, designers, and production teams

- Coordinating the production process to ensure projects ship on time and at high quality

- Supporting remote recordings and preparing materials for upcoming shoots

- Partnering with the Director of Client Strategy to turn strategy into executed content

How You'll Be Measured

- Client experience and relationship health

- Production timelines and workflow execution

- Account health and deliverable quality

- Creative contribution to episodes and social formats

Must-Haves

- Strong communication skills with both clients and creative teams

- Highly organized and comfortable managing multiple projects at once

- Strong creative instincts for what makes video content engaging

- Ability to translate strategy into clear production plans and deliverables

- 2-4 years of experience in video production, content marketing, or agency client services with a strong emphasis on client success.

This Role Is NOT For You If...

- You want to specialize primarily as a videographer or editor

- You prefer purely execution roles with little client interaction

- You struggle to stay organized when managing multiple projects and timelines

- You're uncomfortable contributing creative ideas or shaping content

Role Details

- Part-time/freelance

- Flat Rate per client

- Remote

- 3-7 clients once fully onboarded

- Occasional remote recording support

We are looking for 2-3 freelancers and plan to move quickly within the next couple of weeks.

In your cover letter, please detail the following:

- Client experience

- Production experience

- Favorite client project

- Time capacity

Thank you!
