Description

We are currently seeking an Operations Research Analyst to join our team at Fort Meade, MD. As a cornerstone of strategic decision-making, an Operations Research Analyst leverages advanced analytical and mathematical expertise to optimize organizational processes and solve complex problems. In this role, you will collaborate with diverse teams to dissect intricate issues, forecast outcomes, and implement data-driven solutions that enhance efficiency and productivity. Our ideal candidate possesses a strong aptitude for quantitative analysis, critical thinking, and innovative problem-solving, combined with proficient communication skills to convey technical information effectively to stakeholders.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and apply probability models, statistical inference, simulations, optimization, data analysis, data visualization, and implement mathematical models to solve operational problems.
  • Introduce quantitative and qualitative analysis, data analytics, and data science to military decision-making processes.
  • Conduct analysis, assessments, and determine progress of Agency directives by developing measures of performance and measures of effectiveness.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and interpret data.
  • Create simulations and predictive models to forecast future outcomes.
  • Optimize resource allocation and logistical processes.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analysis to evaluate project feasibility.
  • Prepare and present reports to communicate analytical results and recommendations.
  • Use statistical software and programming languages to perform analyses.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of implemented solutions and recommend improvements.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and analytical techniques.

Basic Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree and 12+ years’ experience or Master’s degree and 10+ years’ experience in Operations Research, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience with specialized software such as MATLAB, SAS, or R.
  • Familiarity with machine learning techniques and data mining.
  • Experience with data analysis and statistical software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
