This role is primarily remote, with frequent on-site meetings at Chief's on Broadway. Corporate office is available for those who prefer a shared workspace.

ABOUT CHIEF'S

Chief's on Broadway is a six-story bar and live music venue celebrating the ever-expanding musical legacy of Eric Church. Set in the heart of downtown Nashville, Chief's brings together music, design, and culinary offerings for an unmatched entertainment experience in Music City. The first floor houses a broadcast studio, home to Church's Outsiders Radio on SiriusXM, with the capability to host programming from a range of media partners. Food and drink are available throughout the venue, along with a new street-facing frozen Greek yogurt walk-up window from Nashville-based Culture Club. The third and fourth floors hold a ticketed live music venue that has hosted residencies from Eric Church, among others. Beginning September 2026, Miami-based Palm Tree Club will take over the rooftop, adding a new dimension to the venue. Chief's is located at the corner of 2nd Avenue and Broadway. ABOUT THE ROLE

We're seeking a freelance Graphic Designer to support our operation and brand marketing with high-impact visual content. This role is ideal for someone who understands music culture, nightlife branding, and fast-paced promotional design. You'll help translate food and beverage content, show announcements, artist residencies, and venue activations into eye-catching visuals that perform across social media, email, in-venue screens, and print materials. This is an independent contractor engagement, not an employee position. Chief's will not withhold taxes or provide employee benefits. All work product created under this engagement will be considered work made for hire. Specific terms will be outlined in the independent contractor agreement.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Design promotional graphics for ticketed shows, residencies, and special events
  • Create social media assets for Instagram, Facebook, and story formats
  • Build email newsletter visuals and digital marketing banners (Mailchimp experience a plus)
  • Develop in-venue signage, digital TV slides, and wayfinding materials
  • Support branded campaigns for partnerships, holidays, and seasonal programming
  • Maintain consistency with Chief's brand guidelines while bringing fresh creative ideas
  • Turn artist assets into cohesive, on-brand promotional content quickly and efficiently
  • Deliver agreed-upon project assets by mutually established deadlines
  • Collaborate with marketing team to meet deadlines for monthly ticketed show collateral

WHO YOU ARE

Chief's is seeking a highly motivated individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced, creative environment. The ideal candidate will have graphic design experience in entertainment, hospitality, or live event marketing and a genuine passion for music culture. This role also requires the following attributes:

  • Independent self-starter who can manage deadlines with minimal oversight
  • Strong communicator who collaborates well with a marketing team
  • Detail-oriented with a consistent eye for on-brand, polished output
  • Adaptable and efficient when juggling multiple formats and quick-turn requests
  • Enthusiastic about Nashville's live music and entertainment scene and the stories worth telling in it

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or equivalent tools and Canva
  • Portfolio showcasing social media, entertainment, or event-based design work
  • Strong understanding of typography, layout, and visual storytelling
  • Ability to work fast and adapt designs for multiple formats and platforms
  • Interest in music, live events, or hospitality branding strongly preferred
  • Comfortable working in a deadline-driven, high-volume environment
  • Must be able to sustain loud noise volume
  • Must have access to and supply their own licensed design software and hardware (Chief's will not provide equipment for this engagement)

Preferred

  • Experience in nightlife, music venue, or festival marketing
  • Motion graphics or simple animation skills for digital signage
  • Photography or content editing skills
  • Familiarity with Broadway/Nashville music scene culture
