About the Role

A B2B media company is hiring an Editorial Director to lead content strategy and editorial operations across three brands serving multiple industries. This is a player‑coach role that spans print magazines, daily digital publishing, live conferences, webinars, and podcasts. The director will oversee four print issues per year per brand, manage daily website and newsletter content, program two annual conferences, and host multimedia content including podcasts and webinar Q&As.

The audience is senior‑level executives, and the content mix includes original reporting, solicited industry contributions, and freelance assignments. The right candidate is someone who can move between high‑level editorial planning and hands‑on production work, from building annual editorial calendars to editing copy and optimizing headlines for search.

This is a hybrid position based in New Jersey with occasional travel for conferences, trade shows, and client visits.

What the Role Covers
  • Developing and executing annual editorial calendars across three B2B brands
  • Managing end‑to‑end production of four print issues per year, including assigning, editing, and trafficking content through the production cycle
  • Leading daily content operations for brand websites and newsletters, balancing original reporting with industry contributions
  • Publishing daily news and long‑form features in WordPress
  • Applying SEO copywriting, keyword research, and SERP analysis to drive organic traffic
  • Managing a mix of freelance writers and industry contributorsDirecting all programming for two annual conferences, including speaker recruitment, session development, and Advisory Board management
  • Moderating educational webinars and leading live Q&A sessions
  • Producing and hosting podcasts featuring industry experts, from topic development through interviews
Qualifications
  • Experience leading editorial strategy and content operations across print, digital, and events
  • Strong editing and proofreading skills with the ability to manage content through a full production cycle
  • Proficiency in WordPress, Microsoft Office Suite, and InDesign
  • Proven SEO content writing experience, including keyword research and SERP optimization
  • Experience managing freelance writers and external contributors
  • Comfortable on camera and on mic as a moderator, interviewer, and host
  • Ability to balance strategic planning with daily hands‑on execution
