Job description

How you'll make an impact Leveraging experience, you will conduct business model analysis in-line with internal policy guidelines and apply complex evaluation techniques to achieve the desired results for complex deals. Conduct proficient analysis of P&L, balance sheet and cash flow statements of complex business models and demonstrate a competent understanding of accounting principles. Competent in underwriting high risk lines of business including travel, subscriptions, ticketing and events, securities dealers, gambling, amongst others. Prepare persuasive summaries to assess micro and macro risks, mitigants and make balanced recommendations to present to management and the Credit Risk Committee. Represent Underwriting in attending customer calls and meetings alongside Sales or Account Management. Approve teammates' credit submissions in line with delegated approval authority. Identify operational issues and areas for improvement, and make detailed recommendations on how to improve the merchant onboarding experience. Preferable if candidate possesses industry expertise, and can act as a subject matter expert in a particular industry(ies). Foster a culture of collaboration with key internal stakeholders, in particular Sales, and first and second line Risk personnel and Legal. Act as a mentor to junior team members through training initiatives and credit approvals. Contribute to Underwriting driven projects as required. What we're looking for Subject matter expertise in underwriting and financial analysis. Demonstrated ability to make sound judgement, balancing risk and reward. Ability to continually monitor and manage competing priorities and adjust accordingly. Possess excellent written and interpersonal communication skills. Experience within Customer Due Diligence (KYC and KYB). Adopt a "customer first" mindset to deliver creative solutions for our merchants. Competent escalation management – act with urgency to ensure escalations are prioritized, owned, and resolved effectively. Possess enthusiasm to drive process improvement initiatives, and contribute to broader department initiatives and projects. High performance mindset defined by rigorous discipline and execution intensity. Contribute to cross team collaboration and building a One Team culture. Leading by example, you will demonstrate our core Values and live out our Operating Principles in everything you do. Desirable if you have coached, mentored or led teams in the past. Work in a team that uses qualitative and quantitative targets to measure performance. Demonstrable experience related to merchant underwriting, credit insurance and/or commercial lending. Expert level financial statement analysis and credit exposure assessment ability. Experience with concise written and oral presentations, and ability to deliver complex messages in a clear and focused manner. A highly analytical team player who loves to evaluate financial and business risks. Domain expertise within the payments industry will be preferable. #J-18808-Ljbffr
