Job Summary:
Material Handler is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy through efficient movement, storage, and tracking of materials within the production floor. This role supports production and shipping by staging materials, cleaning plastic equipment, and maintaining accurate inventory through daily audits and record keeping. This position requires the operation of various forklifts and other material moving equipment.
Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Accurately label, store, and distribute materials to designated work centers or locations
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using proper warehouse management systems (daily worksheets, material cards, and ERP system (JOBBOSS))
  • Identify, report, and resolve, inventory discrepancies; Identify and report non-conforming materials to proper personnel
  • Safe operation of various forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment
  • Perform scheduled inventory audits
  • Daily cleaning of liquid plastic equipment including containers used in production
  • Ensure work areas are kept clean, organized, and compliant with safety guidelines
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, production, and shipping departments
  • Load and unload trucks while following proper material handling procedures
  • Assisting with production breaks if needed
Minimum Requirements
  • Must consistently demonstrate a strong work ethic, including initiative, accountability, and attention to detail to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Must demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality to support consistent production flow and team coordination.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in warehouse, logistics, or material handling a plus
  • Experience or certification with forklift and other material handling equipment preferred
  • Basic math and computer skills are preferred and prior experience with inventory systems a plus
Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to lift 20-50lbs throughout the shift and stand and walk for long periods of time
  • Team player and ability to work collaboratively with other departments
  • Attention to detail; Critical thinking skills; problem solving; ability to multitask
  • Ability to use a scanner to track material movement throughout the production floor
Work Environment
  • Work areas may experience occasional temperature changes (warm, cool, or humid).
  • Some tasks may involve mild exposure to chemicals or fumes, with all necessary protective equipment provided.
  • Workday involves periods of physical labor and heavy lifting
