Position Description

This support is provided to Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC) and Program Executive Office Land Systems (PEO LS) Program Managers and extends to other organizations, such as Marine Forces Cyber Command, Marine Corps Operational Test and Evaluation Activity, Naval Air Warfare Command, Special Operations Command, as well as direct support to the Fleet Marine Forces (FMF). The MCTSSA technical workforce is comprised of civilians and active-duty Marines, with educational backgrounds in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, and information technology. This support is provided to Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC) and Program Executive Office Land Systems (PEO LS) Program Managers and extends to other organizations, such as Marine Forces Cyber Command, Marine Corps Operational Test and Evaluation Activity, Naval Air Warfare Command, Special Operations Command, as well as direct support to the Fleet Marine Forces (FMF). The MCTSSA technical workforce is comprised of civilians and active-duty Marines, with educational backgrounds in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, and information technology.


Minimum Position Requirements:

Five years' experience as a systems engineer.

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or related field.

Two years' experience performing engineering, software development, testing, or system administration of Air C2 systems such as CAC2S, CTN, or TBMCS.

  • 1-2 years experience with Wireshark and network analysis


Desired Position Qualifications:

Experience administering VMware ESXi, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and Windows Server Operating Systems.

Experience in Microsoft Active Directory.

Working knowledge of network administration and troubleshooting of Cisco routing and switching.

CompTIA Security+ certification.

Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE).

Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).

Certified Systems Engineering Professional.


Tasks:

Leads and provides guidance to teams in the provision of technical support and expertise for test, engineering, and training efforts related to Air C2 systems such as CAC2S, CTN, or TBMCS.

Defines, organizes, and assigns activities to accomplish engineering and testing efforts.

Provides technical mentoring to individuals and teams.

Develops, integrates, and implements solutions to diverse, highly complex technical problems across multiple areas and disciplines.

Develops, reviews, writes, or provides technical input to technical test and engineering documents.

Develops and presents briefings as required.

Documents technical status, progress, and problems encountered during test and engineering events.

Interacts independently and proactively with customers to identify and define complex problems and to develop and implement strategies or techniques for resolving technical issues.

Works with customers to evaluate and analyze technical requirements and test objectives to develop plans to test these requirements and objectives.

Identifies, plans, allocates, and optimizes resources to complete multiple project related tasks and goals.

Manages and maintains equipment and configurations in the test and engineering labs.

Effectively accomplishes multiple project goals within established guidelines.

  • Works with MIL-STDs to perform data analysis and provide input for test reports
  • Uses Wireshark for network analysis of bandwidth, data exchanges, and troubleshooting and provides the analysis for test reports.
  • Uses simulation tools for MIL-STD message formats (Link 16, VMF etc.)

Travel is anticipated to be 10% - 15% within the Continental United States and 5%-10% outside the Continental United States
