The Equipment Specialist provides comprehensive logistics, provisioning, equipment management, and supply chain support to Marine Corps Systems Command acquisition programs. The position supports lifecycle logistics activities associated with acquisition, fielding, sustainment, maintenance, calibration, inventory accountability, provisioning, and Government Furnished Property (GFP) management for Marine Corps systems and equipment.

The Equipment Specialist supports Program Managers, Logistics Managers, Systems Engineers, and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) by developing and maintaining logistics documentation, tracking equipment inventories and warranties, managing calibration schedules, supporting provisioning activities, and coordinating supply chain management efforts in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD), Department of the Navy (DoN), and Marine Corps logistics policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Logistics and Provisioning Support

  • Provide dedicated logistics and equipment management support for acquisition and sustainment programs throughout the system lifecycle.
  • Collect, analyze, interpret, and develop equipment-specific and supply chain information to support lifecycle management decisions.
  • Support development, review, and submission of logistics and provisioning documentation including: Technical Instructions (TIs), Provisioning Technical Documentation (PTD), Logistics Support Analysis (LSA) products, MICAPS provisioning documentation.
  • Utilize Logistics Support Analysis Record (LSAR) 036 formats and applicable Marine Corps provisioning systems.
  • Participate in provisioning conferences and logistics planning meetings.
  • Assess installation procedures, provisioning publication projects, and logistics implementation activities.
  • Identify deficiencies, observations, and corrective action requirements to improve logistics supportability and sustainment processes.

Supply Chain Management Support

  • Support Program Managers and logistics leads in development and execution of Supply Chain Management activities.
  • Assist with development and maintenance of: Supply Chain Management Requests, Equipment Exchange Tracking, Warranty Support Procedures, Sustainment tracking documentation.
  • Ensure logistics concerns and sustainment impacts are incorporated into: Systems Engineering events, Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) reviews, Risk management activities, Integrated Master Schedules (IMS), Logistics and engineering documentation.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to ensure logistics requirements are addressed throughout acquisition activities.

Inventory and Government Property Management

  • Develop, maintain, and update itemized inventory and shipment databases for supported programs.
  • Utilize Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS) or Government-approved systems to manage inventory records.
  • Track Government Furnished Property (GFP), spare parts, and equipment shipments between: Fleet Marine Force (FMF), Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) facilities, Repair and calibration facilities.
  • Conduct and maintain inventory accountability records for fielded and non-fielded systems.
  • Support property audits, equipment accountability reviews, and inventory reconciliation activities.

Equipment Tracking and Calibration Management

  • Develop and maintain equipment databases by serial number to track: GCSS-MC Service Requests (SRs), Warranty status, Scheduled calibration requirements, Fielded equipment status.
  • Coordinate and monitor calibration schedules to ensure compliance with maintenance and readiness requirements.
  • Support timely responses to GCSS-MC Service Requests from Fleet Marine Force activities within required response timelines.
  • Conduct itemized inventories prior to fielding activities and document all missing or deferred components.
  • Maintain detailed records of equipment status, repairs, maintenance history, and calibration events.

Logistics Systems and Technical Support

  • Utilize and maintain working knowledge of: GCSS-MC, DPAS, MICAPS, TFSMS, Albany Publication systems, SharePoint, Government logistics databases and repositories.
  • Support logistics artifact development, document updates, and data management activities.
  • Coordinate logistics documentation reviews and updates with Government stakeholders and OEM representatives.

Security and Communications Support

  • Maintain access to required Government networks and communications systems including SIPRNet when required by supported programs.
  • Ensure compliance with Government cybersecurity, access control, and information assurance requirements.
  • Maintain active security credentials and access permissions necessary to support program execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering Technology, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Active Secret clearance.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience supporting DoD logistics, acquisition, or sustainment programs.
  • Demonstrated experience with: Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), Supply chain management, Equipment accountability, Government property management, Provisioning and sustainment activities.
  • Working knowledge of: DoD acquisition lifecycle logistics, Marine Corps logistics processes, Provisioning and calibration management, warranty tracking procedures.
  • Experience using: DPAS, GCSS-MC, SharePoint, Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • DAWIA Life Cycle Logistics certification.
  • Experience supporting Marine Corps Systems Command programs.
  • Familiarity with: MICAPS, TFSMS, Albany Publication systems, Logistics Support Analysis (LSA), Provisioning Technical Documentation (PTD).
  • Experience supporting fielding, calibration, or depot-level maintenance programs.
  • Experience supporting systems engineering and ECP review processes.
  • Familiarity with SIPRNet operations and classified logistics environments.

  • Strong knowledge of logistics lifecycle management and sustainment operations.
  • Ability to manage complex equipment inventories and tracking databases.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Work performed in Government offices, warehouses, logistics facilities, and contractor locations.
  • Occasional travel may be required to support fielding events, inventories, provisioning conferences, and logistics reviews.
  • Position may require access to classified systems and secure facilities.
