Job description

Onward Search Education is a specialized education staffing and talent solutions company that helps educators, therapists, and school health professionals find top jobs with the nation's top schools. We're partnering with a school district in Kitsap County, Washington to hire dedicated Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) for the 2026-2027 school year.
In this role, you'll provide school-based speech-language services to help students strengthen communication and language skills so they can fully access and participate in their educational environment.
Position Details:
  • Location: In-person (On-site) -- Kitsap County, WA
  • Schedule: Up to 37.5 hours/week (hours not to exceed weekly)
  • School Year: 2026/2027
  • Caseload: Approximately 45

Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate students to identify speech, language, communication, and/or swallowing disorders
  • Conduct screenings and use standardized assessments for articulation, fluency, voice, receptive/expressive language, and social communication
  • Develop and implement service plans aligned to student goals (IEP/504), with measurable outcomes
  • Provide direct therapy (individual and/or small group) to address student needs
  • Support students using Augmentative & Alternative Communication (AAC) as appropriate
  • Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support student progress and classroom success
  • Provide classroom strategies and consultation to help generalize communication skills across settings
  • Maintain timely documentation, progress notes, and compliance records
  • Ensure services align with applicable federal/state guidelines (including IDEA requirements)

Qualifications:
  • Active Washington Speech-Language Pathologist license (or ability to obtain licensure for WA)
  • School-based and/or pediatric experience (preferred)
  • Knowledge of IEP/504 processes and collaborative service delivery in educational settings (preferred)
  • Strong communication skills and comfort partnering with school teams and families
  • Ability to work on-site and maintain timely documentation/progress reporting
