Job description

RMD Designs is hiring: Part-Time Kitchen & Bath Designer — 5+ Years Kitchen Design Experience

RMD Designs, a boutique architecture and interior design firm based in Hudson, Ohio, is looking for a part-time Kitchen & Bath Designer with at least 5 years of kitchen design experience to join our team.

We work on a mix of residential and commercial projects — kitchen and bath renovations, building expansions, and full-scope interior design — and we're looking for someone who shares our appreciation for clean lines, thoughtful detail, and design that's both beautiful and livable.

What you'll do:

  • Design and detail kitchen and bath spaces from concept through construction documents
  • Must have knowledge in cabinetry construction
  • Collaborate with clients to translate their needs into functional, elegant layouts
  • Select finishes, fixtures, cabinetry, and materials that align with each project's aesthetic
  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and the design team to ensure smooth execution
  • Prepare drawings, specifications, and presentation materials for client meetings

What we're looking for:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in kitchen design (bath design experience a plus)
  • Proficiency with design software (e.g., 20-20, AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar)
  • Strong eye for space planning, proportion, and material selection
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working part-time/flexible hours

Why RMD Designs:

  • Small, established firm with 30+ years of design experience
  • Collaborative studio environment with room to grow
  • Work on a variety of high-quality residential and commercial projects
  • Flexible part-time schedule
