What are freelance illustrators?

Freelance illustrators are self-employed artists who create visual images for clients on a project-by-project basis. They work independently, often collaborating with publishers, advertising agencies, designers, or individual clients to produce illustrations for books, magazines, websites, marketing materials, and more. Freelance illustrators must manage their own business operations, such as finding clients, negotiating contracts, and handling billing.
