What is a freelance health insurance agent?

A freelance health insurance agent is an independent professional who helps clients find and purchase health insurance policies without being tied to a specific insurance company. They typically work for themselves or as contractors and can represent multiple insurers, giving clients a variety of coverage options. Their responsibilities include assessing clients' needs, explaining policy details, assisting with enrollment, and providing ongoing support. Because they are not employed by one company, they offer unbiased advice tailored to each individual's situation.

To thrive as a Freelance Health Insurance Agent, you need a comprehensive understanding of health insurance products, state licensing, and sales strategies. Familiarity with CRM software, quoting platforms, and industry compliance tools is typically required. These abilities are crucial for effectively matching clients with suitable coverage and maintaining long-term client relationships.

How do freelance health insurance agents typically build and maintain a client base?

Freelance health insurance agents often rely on networking, referrals, and digital marketing to attract and retain clients. Building trust through personalized service and clear communication is essential, as clients frequently seek ongoing advice regarding policy changes and renewals. Agents may also partner with local businesses or attend community events to expand their reach. Maintaining strong relationships and providing timely support helps ensure repeat business and referrals in this highly competitive field.

Pre-Set Appointments - Licensed Life & Health Insurance Agent  (1099)

Build Your Business While Helping Families Protect Their Future

Make a meaningful impact while growing your insurance career with a trusted, relationship-driven agency.

If you're an experienced, licensed Life & Health Insurance Agent looking for a better way to grow, Mair Agency offers a proven model designed to help you succeed.

At Mair Agency, we believe insurance is about more than policies, it's about helping people feel confident and prepared for the future. Our agents serve as trusted advisors, educating clients and providing personalized solutions that help protect their health and financial well-being.

What makes us different? Our experienced in-house call center schedules 3-6 qualified appointments every business day, allowing you to spend your time meeting with clients instead of cold calling. Even better, our agents consistently achieve 55% to 90% closing ratios because they're meeting with qualified individuals who are ready to have meaningful conversations, not spending their days chasing leads.

Our top-performing agents earn $300,000 to $400,000 per year while the opportunity to earn $500,000 to $600,000 per year is actually attainable with our proven business model.  Many experienced agents in our organization build and enjoy six-figure incomes through our proven system.

This is an independent (1099) opportunity for experienced insurance professionals who are self-motivated, coachable, and ready to build a rewarding career with the support of a relationship-focused agency.

·         Ongoing training, mentorship, and support from Mair Agency's Director of Sales for Specialized Healthcare Products.
·         Represent a diverse portfolio of Medicare and supplemental insurance products.
·         Build your own business while enjoying the flexibility of an independent contractor role.
·         Make a meaningful impact by helping clients prepare for life's unexpected moments.
