ABOUT PENCE MEDIA GROUP

Pence Media Group (PMG) is a full-service public relations, branding, digital + paid media and marketing consultancy founded by Nicole Pence Becker in 2017. PMG serves clients across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors.

PMG has grown into a dynamic, award-winning team known for helping clients affirm their brand identity, craft meaningful messages, and deliver them to targeted audiencesโ€”with an operating mantra of, โ€œConsider it done.โ€ As a certified Womenโ€™s Business Enterprise (WBE), PMG partners with organizations ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies to drive visibility, strengthen reputation, and deliver measurable results.

POSITION OVERVIEW

PMG is seeking a Senior Graphic Designer + Brand Strategist to develop bold, brand-aligned creative and strategic marketing deliverables for our private, public, and nonprofit clients. This hybrid role blends high-level brand development with hands-on design execution, working closely with the Director of Brand Strategy.

This role requires a versatile, systems-minded creative with a minimum of 7 years of experience in graphic design, brand development, or integrated marketingโ€”someone who can build scalable design solutions, think strategically, and execute with polish. The ideal candidate has sharp design instincts, marketing fluency, and the ability to translate complex ideas into clean, compelling visuals that work across formats and platforms. A passion for storytelling, an eye for detail, and the ability to own projects from concept to completion are essential.

This is a full-time, hybrid position requiring 40 hours per week, with in-person collaboration in the Indianapolis area or at PMGโ€™s headquarters in Carmel.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in graphic design, brand development, and/or integrated marketing
  • Proven ability to design and develop marketing materials across digital and print
  • Deep understanding of brand identity systems, typography, color theory, and layout
  • Strong portfolio showcasing branding work, social media templates, presentations, and campaign assets
  • Ability to contribute to marketing strategy, not just design execution
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (especially InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and Canva
  • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Monday.com), Google Workspace, and social platforms
  • Bonus: experience with motion graphics, email templates, and web design (e.g., Figma or Webflow)

ROLES + RESPONSIBILITIES

CREATIVE DIRECTION + DESIGN

  • Work alongside the Director of Brand Strategy to create high-impact design assets including brand systems, campaign visuals, marketing materials, large-scale designs, pitch decks, event signage, and social media templates
  • Translate brand strategy into compelling, consistent visual identities
  • Develop and manage visual content for clients across industries, working within brand guidelines and pushing creative boundaries when appropriate
  • Own asset creation from concept through delivery, ensuring on-time execution and high-quality output

STRATEGIC MARKETING COLLABORATION

  • Partner with PR and marketing strategists to ensure visuals support client campaign goals
  • Participate in brand discovery, message alignment, and creative brief development
  • Contribute to marketing planning sessions and strategic brainstorms
  • Support the development of internal PMG materials and brand guidelines

CLIENT ENGAGEMENT + EXECUTION

  • Serve as a visual lead on select accounts, communicating directly with clients and integrating feedback
  • Present design concepts to internal stakeholders and clients with clarity and confidence
  • Help clients visualize their potential through elevated creative assets that match their brand voice and goals

TOOLS + PLATFORMS

Experience with:

  • Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and Canva
  • Project management tools (e.g., Monday.com) and Google Workspace
  • Social media platforms and content scheduling tools
  • Bonus: motion graphics, email template design, and web design tools (e.g., Figma or Webflow)
  • Familiarity with AI-powered design tools (e.g., Adobe Firefly, Midjourney) to support concepting and production efficiency

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

  • Stay current on emerging design trends, creative tools, and strategic marketing practices
  • Pursue continued learning through workshops, webinars, and industry communities
