Help ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and operational excellence across Gogo's growing business.
At Gogo, we're transforming how people connect in the sky through innovative connectivity solutions for business aviation customers worldwide. Behind every product, investment, and technology deployment is a strong financial foundation that helps us scale responsibly and support continued growth.
As our Fixed Asset Accountant, you'll play a key role in managing the company's fixed asset accounting processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and effective asset management. You'll work closely with Finance, Accounting, Tax, Operations, IT, and business stakeholders to maintain accurate asset records and support month-end close, audits, and strategic business initiatives.
If you're someone who is detail-oriented, analytical, and passionate about maintaining financial accuracy while continuously improving processes, we'd love to meet you.
What You'll Do
  • Own the fixed asset accounting process across multiple locations and business entities, ensuring accurate asset tracking and financial reporting.
  • Research and record new capital asset additions, including property, equipment, software, and technology investments.
  • Partner with Finance, Operations, Procurement, IT, and business leaders to determine asset capitalization, useful lives, and in-service dates.
  • Manage monthly depreciation calculations and postings to ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Process asset disposals, transfers, retirements, and sales while maintaining accurate asset records.
  • Perform fixed asset subledger to general ledger reconciliations as part of the month-end and year-end close process.
  • Support SOX compliance activities by maintaining and executing fixed asset controls in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Prepare schedules, reports, and supporting documentation for internal audits, external audits, and tax-related requests.
  • Identify opportunities to improve, automate, and optimize fixed asset accounting processes and reporting capabilities.
  • Contribute to the overall accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of Gogo's accounting and financial reporting functions.

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in fixed asset accounting, general ledger accounting, or related accounting functions.
  • Demonstrated experience managing fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, and account reconciliations.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Business Central, SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, or similar financial platforms.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, fixed asset accounting principles, capitalization policies, and depreciation methodologies.
  • Ability to analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, and resolve accounting issues efficiently.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with large data sets.
  • Knowledge of internal controls and SOX compliance requirements.

Even Better If You Have
You don't need to check every box below. If you bring experience in some of these areas, we'd especially like to hear from you:
  • Experience supporting fixed asset accounting in a public company environment.
  • Exposure to IFRS reporting standards and multi-entity accounting structures.
  • Knowledge of SOX compliance, internal controls, and audit readiness processes.
  • Experience within aviation, aerospace, telecommunications, technology, or manufacturing industries.
  • Familiarity with capital project accounting, construction-in-progress (CIP), or lease accounting processes.
  • Experience participating in ERP implementations or system optimization initiatives.
  • CPA, CMA, or other relevant accounting certification.
  • Advanced education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
