We are seeking a Freelance Menswear Designer to join our Private Label Apparel team, supporting the design and development of dress shirts and casual shirts across key customer accounts. This role will be responsible for driving product development from concept through execution, translating trend insight and customer needs into commercially relevant and well-executed product.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop menswear dress shirts and casual shirts across private label programs from concept through final production.
  • Conduct trend research and competitive analysis to inform seasonal direction, fabrications, color, and styling.
  • Develop silhouettes, fabric direction, washes, trims, and construction details aligned with customer expectations.
  • Prepare and present seasonal concepts, product direction, and design proposals in internal and customer-facing meetings.
  • Partner closely with merchandising, development, and production teams to ensure strong execution and on-time delivery.
  • Maintain design timelines and key milestones across assigned programs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between design intent and business objectives.
  • Work closely with vendors and manufacturing partners to support product development, fit, and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field.
  • 4-7 years of menswear design experience, with strong focus on dress shirts and casual shirts.
  • Strong understanding of shirt construction, fabric development, and garment fit.
  • Experience working within private label or customer-driven retail environments preferred.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and relevant design tools.

Compensation/Benefits:
The approximate hourly rate range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00. The offered rate will vary based on the scope of the role, skill set, and years of experience.
