We’re looking for an experienced Short-Form Drama Writer to join us on an initial project basis and help build a new AI-assisted approach to developing serialized mobile drama.

The core of the role is hands-on: developing and improving short-drama concepts and scripts, working with AI writing tools, and using real audience and acquisition signals to make stories stronger.

We’re open to different levels of seniority. You may be a strong individual contributor with deep short-drama production experience, or a Lead / Head Writer who can also help us design the wider writing workflow and eventually build the function.

This is initially a project-based engagement, with the possibility of transitioning into a full-time role as the function develops and if there is a strong mutual fit.

Your Mission:

You’ll help us build and refine an AI-assisted script development pipeline for short-form drama.

Depending on your background, this could range from working directly with scripts and AI writing tools to helping us design the broader writing operation: how ideas are developed, how writers are briefed, how scripts are reviewed and iterated, and how audience and paid acquisition insights feed back into storytelling.

The goal is to create a process where creative performance data continuously improves both the stories we produce and the AI tools supporting the writing process.

What You’ll Do:
  • Develop, review, and improve short-form serialized drama scripts.

  • Work hands-on with AI writing tools to generate, develop, and iterate story ideas and scripts.

  • Review AI-generated content and provide structured creative feedback to improve both script quality and the tools themselves.

  • Use audience and paid acquisition insights to understand what is working, identify patterns, and apply those learnings to future scripts and story development.

  • Help define a repeatable script development process, from concept and first draft through review, iteration, and production handoff.

  • Bring practical production experience into the writing process and help ensure scripts are realistic, scalable, and suitable for short-form production.

  • Explore how AI can meaningfully improve the script development workflow without compromising creative quality.

  • Work closely with creative, production, and user acquisition teams.

What We Expect From You:
  • Strong professional experience writing or developing short-form serialized drama.

  • Experience working within a short-drama streaming platform, production studio, or a studio producing content for short-drama platforms.

  • Strong understanding of mobile-first storytelling, including hooks, pacing, emotional escalation, cliffhangers, and episodic structure.

  • Close familiarity with the production process, even if your primary role has been as an individual contributor.

  • Experience working in high-volume content environments and iterating quickly.

  • Understanding of key content and performance metrics, and how writing decisions — such as hooks, pacing, story structure, characters, and cliffhangers — can influence audience behaviour and content performance.

  • Comfort looking at performance data and using it to inform creative decisions. You don’t need to be a performance marketer, but you should understand how your creative work can influence performance.

  • Experience collaborating with production, creative, and/or user acquisition teams.

  • Curiosity about AI-assisted content production and a willingness to rethink traditional writing workflows.

Experience managing writers, working with outsourced or freelance writing teams, building editorial processes, or connecting paid acquisition performance with the development of the series itself is a strong advantage - but it is not required for every candidate we’d like to meet.
