What is a freelance cruise line sales professional?

Freelance Cruise Line Sales professionals are independent agents or consultants who specialize in selling cruise vacations to individuals or groups. They typically work on a commission basis and may partner with various cruise lines or travel agencies to offer clients a range of options. Their responsibilities include advising clients on cruise destinations, booking cabins, arranging travel packages, and providing customer service before and after the trip. Because they operate independently, they have flexibility in their schedules and may work from home or remotely. This role requires strong sales skills, knowledge of the cruise industry, and excellent customer service abilities.

How do freelance cruise line sales professionals build and maintain relationships with clients and cruise providers?

Freelance cruise line sales professionals often rely on proactive networking, repeat business, and excellent customer service to build strong relationships with both clients and cruise providers. They usually keep in touch with clients through regular follow-ups, personalized recommendations, and timely updates on promotions or new itineraries. Collaboration with cruise providers involves staying informed about offerings and negotiating group deals, which requires strong communication skills and ongoing relationship management. Success in this role often depends on the ability to provide tailored travel solutions and maintain trust with clients for future bookings.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a freelance cruise line sales professional?

To excel in Freelance Cruise Line Sales, you need strong sales acumen, in-depth knowledge of cruise products, and typically prior experience in travel or hospitality sales. Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, online booking platforms, and industry certifications such as CLIA (Cruise Lines International Association) credentials are highly valued. Outstanding interpersonal skills, self-motivation, and effective communication help build client trust and close deals. These abilities are crucial for independently generating leads, meeting sales targets, and delivering exceptional customer service in a competitive travel market.

Job description

Your Next Adventure Awaits: Personal Cruise Consultant at Norwegian Cruise Line!

Are you ready to dive into a career that's all about fun, travel, and uncapped earning potential? Do you have the enthusiasm to turn dream vacations into reality?

At Norwegian Cruise Line, we don't just sell cruises—we sell incredible memories. We're looking for passionate, high-energy sales professionals to join our team in Sunrise, FL, and help guests find their perfect high-seas getaway. If you thrive in a goal-oriented environment and love to connect with people, this is the ship for you!

What You'll Be Doing (The Fun Stuff):

  • Be a Cruise Matchmaker: Initiate calls, follow up on warm leads, and connect with direct consumers to understand their travel dreams. You’ll be their expert guide, recommending the perfect Norwegian Cruise Line product, from itineraries to staterooms.
  • Launch Sales Rockets: Close sales and meet/exceed ambitious revenue goals. You are in control of your success!
  • Build Your Crew: Establish lasting relationships with new and existing guests. You’ll become their trusted cruise guru, consistently checking in and proactively suggesting new voyages based on their past adventures.
  • Become a Product Pro: Master the ins and outs of our incredible fleet, itineraries, and promotions. You’ll confidently articulate the features and benefits of our cruises and upsell exciting extras like stateroom upgrades and onboard credits.
  • Learn and Level Up: Actively participate in daily huddles and sales training to sharpen your skills and stay at the cutting edge of the cruise industry.
  • Set Sail Together: Participate in exciting guest outreach campaigns designed to get people booked on their next vacation.

What You Bring to the Helm:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (Required). A Bachelor's degree in a related field is a bonus!
  • Experience: A minimum of 1 year of successful sales experience (preferred). Experience specifically selling cruises is a HUGE plus, but not required if you bring the passion!
  • Exceptional communicator: You are engaging, articulate, and can build instant rapport over the phone.
  • High-Energy & Resilient: You can multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced, high-quota sales environment.
  • Product Enthusiast: You are excited to maintain a strong working knowledge of all Norwegian Cruise Line products.

Compensation & Rewards (Anchors Aweigh for Earnings!):

This is not a typical hourly job—it's an opportunity to build wealth!

  • Base Salary: $29,120 (paid bi-weekly)
  • Commission: UNLIMITED uncapped commission through our sales incentive plan (paid monthly).
  • Earning Potential: Most team members earn $80,000 to $120,000+ annually, with our top performers earning even more! The more energy and effort you put in, the more you take home.

Ready for Shore Leave? (Fantastic Benefits):

  • Employee Discount (Hello, heavily discounted cruises!)
  • 401(k) with matching
  • Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • Paid Time Off
  • Tuition Reimbursement

The Details:

  • Job Type: Full-time, On-site in our Sunrise, FL office
  • Schedule: M-TH 10:50 am - 8:00 pm EST and Friday 9:00 - 6:00pm EST.
  • To maximize your earning potential and success, weekend availability and extra hours during the week are highly recommended and often expected.
