Our client is a trendy, forward-thinking furniture manufacturer and one of the fastest-growing furniture brands in the US. They produce stylish, well-made furniture that is delivered directly to customers at competitive prices. The company is committed to high-quality products, exceptional service, and continued growth.

The Role

Our client is looking for a highly creative and visionary Head of Design & Marketing to lead their design and marketing efforts. This individual will oversee the creative process from concept through execution while ensuring that all visual and written content aligns with the company's brand identity and long-term objectives.
This is a hands-on leadership role that combines creative direction, team management, branding, marketing, and design operations. The successful candidate will manage an in-house creative team of three along with multiple freelance professionals, while collaborating closely with marketing, product development, sales, and executive leadership.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the creative process from concept through execution across a wide range of projects, ensuring consistency with brand identity
  • Manage and work directly with an in-house team of three as well as multiple freelance creative professionals
  • Hire, develop, manage, and inspire the creative team while effectively overseeing workloads and priorities
  • Collaborate with marketing, product development, sales, and other cross-functional teams to develop cohesive campaigns and marketing materials
  • Oversee the creation and editing of visual assets, including product photography, product imagery, lifestyle renderings, graphics, and video
  • Manage and organize thousands of image and creative files efficiently
  • Ensure all creative output and visual communications remain consistent with established brand guidelines
  • Manage product copywriting and ensure product descriptions include accurate details, relevant keywords, and required information
  • Assist with social media strategy and creative development across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest, and other platforms
  • Manage email marketing templates, promotional materials, and other marketing assets
  • Present creative concepts and strategic recommendations to executives, clearly communicating the rationale behind creative decisions and long-term goals
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards
  • Develop and improve design systems, workflows, and processes to increase efficiency and consistency
  • Stay current on design, marketing, furniture, interior design, and emerging technology trends
  • Identify creative and operational challenges and develop solutions independently

Qualifications

Required:
  • 10+ years of experience in graphic design or a related creative field
  • 5+ years of marketing experience
  • Proven experience leading creative projects and managing designers or other creative professionals
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating a range of creative projects across multiple media
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
  • Strong understanding of branding principles, creative direction, and marketing strategy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and file management skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to independently find solutions when direction or answers are not readily available

Preferred:
  • Experience in the furniture, home furnishings, or home decor industry
  • Experience or strong passion for interior design and merchandising
  • Experience with 3D design software such as Blender or similar platforms
  • Experience developing product imagery, lifestyle renderings, and video content
  • Experience managing social media creative across multiple platforms
  • Experience working with freelance creative teams
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Marketing, or a related field
