Job description

The individual will work closely with subject matter experts to observe tasks or processes and study materials and existing documentation to determine procedure and detail. Will write technical documents/manuals in accordance with customer or internal specifications within established deadlines. Must communicate work status and additional updates across teams, ensuring transparency. Mentors less experienced writers and assists with proofreading or technical questions. Follows established safety procedures and reports violations. Performs other job-related tasks as requested with reasonable accommodation.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Associate's degree or higher in technical writing or technical communication preferred.

Experience:Minimum 3 years technical writing experience. Prefer experience in engineering, energy, or manufacturing. CCMS or authoring tools experience, Microsoft suite, Smartsheet.

Travel: 5-10%

Work Schedule: This position works between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM, Monday- Friday. Overtime may be required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works independently on assigned documentation and communicate statuses and obstacles.
  • Interviews subject matter experts and observes the task or process to determine procedure and detail.
  • Studies submitted materials including BOMs, drawings, pictures and more to inform documentation.
  • Organizes material and completes writing assignments according to internal standards.
  • Proofreads documentation for others and recommends improvements.
  • Reviews published materials and recommended revisions or changes in scope, format, or content.
  • Mentors less experienced team members as appropriate.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
