Job description

OVERVIEW: The CNC Programmer / Operator will run and write programs for a CNC router. The CNC Programmer / Operator will program a CNC router, understand material-specific tooling strategies, and take pride in producing high-quality finished parts. This role requires direct communication with customers and vendors to ensure project specifications, materials, and timelines are clearly understood and executed accurately.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Program, set up, and operate a 4x8 CNC router.
  • Create and modify toolpaths using CAM software.
  • Cut and machine EVA foam, acrylic, Starboard (HDPE), aluminum.
  • Select appropriate tooling, feeds, and speeds for each material.
  • Perform material setup, fixturing, and work holding.
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure dimensional accuracy and clean finishes.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Board luxury boats and yachts to scan areas using a professional camera.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and CAD files.
  • Operate 3D printer from CAD models.
  • Collaborate with service advisors, customers, and vendors to optimize part production.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KEY RESULT AREAS:
  • Program and manufacture parts that maintain high quality edge finish on EVA foam, acrylic, Starboard, aluminum, and other non-ferrous metals (e.g., brass, copper).
  • Maintain CNC router, vacuum table, and related equipment.
  • Minimize scrap and rework.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
  • 2+ years of CNC programming and operating experience (router experience preferred) or pursuing engineering degree.
  • Proficiency with CAD/CAM software. Experience with Fusion 360 is a plus but not required.
  • Strong understanding of feeds, speeds, tooling selection, and material behavior.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and work from digital files.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
  • Experience with 3D printing is a plus but not required
