Job description

Location: Resort Portofino

Department: Recreation

Status: Part-Time Year-Round

Pay Rate: $14.00

Hours/Days: Varies; 8 AM - 4 PM, 1 PM - 9 PM.


Highly motivated, interactive individual to assist with kids' club events at a resort. Tie dye, crafts, activities, and watching children ages 5 - 12 years old.


I. Summary of the main function/purpose of the position:

The junior counselor is a high school student who will assist the supervisor and senior counselor in implementing all activities and programs designed by the director. The junior counselor is not to be left unattended with the children and will be on call status if registration is low.


II. Key Principal duties/responsibilities (5-8):

  • Be an assistant to the Supervisor & Senior Counselors
  • Help organize and implement all games and activities
  • Demonstrate all activities and games
  • Make sure all children are accounted for and are participating in activities
  • Prep table and serve drinks
  • Help in the setup and breakdown of all activities
  • Paint faces, paint nails, assist with tie dye, and assist with crafts



Occasional duties or projects which may be performed at irregular intervals:

First Aid for Children

Other duties assigned by the management

Lifting up to 50lbs

Records:

Safety: Make sure all children are accounted for and are safely transported to and from activities

Customer Service: make sure all children have an enjoyable, memorable experience in the camp and that all owners/guests feel secure and confident when leaving children with the camp.
