Job description

A leading professional services and information technology organization is seeking a Legal Invoice Review Quality Assurance Analyst for a contract-to-hire opportunity in Kennesaw, GA. This hybrid role focuses on legal invoice auditing, billing analysis, quality assurance, and appeals, giving a legal professional the opportunity to apply their expertise within a specialized business operations and technology environment.

This is a great opportunity for a Juris Doctor who has hands-on legal billing experience and wants to move beyond traditional legal practice while still using their legal knowledge every day. You’ll review complex legal invoices, evaluate billing decisions, work directly with law firm vendors on disputed charges, and help improve the overall quality of the invoice review process. The role also offers exposure to client-facing appeals, legal operations, and process improvement, making it a strong fit for someone interested in the intersection of law, analytics, and business operations.

Required Skills & Experience

· Juris Doctor (JD) degree — required
· Legal billing experience — required
· Experience reviewing legal invoices, billing guidelines, or legal fee/expense documentation
· Strong understanding of legal terminology and concepts
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to independently analyze complex legal information and make sound judgment calls

Desired Skills & Experience

· Experience with legal bill review, e-billing, or legal operations
· Experience working with law firms, attorneys, or legal vendors
· Experience handling billing disputes or appeals
· Familiarity with outside counsel billing guidelines
· Experience documenting findings, adjustments, and recommendations

· Experience working in a quality assurance, audit, compliance, or review environment

Daily Responsibilities

· Review and audit legal fee and expense invoices for accuracy, compliance, and adherence to client billing guidelines
· Perform expert peer reviews of invoice analysts' work
· Evaluate legal terminology, billing activity, and the underlying legal context of invoice line items
· Make and document appropriate corrections or additional adjustments
· Communicate with law firm vendors regarding disputed billing adjustments
· Participate in expert-level discussions to resolve invoice appeals
· Summarize disputed billing issues and the legal concepts supporting the review
· Prepare written documentation for client review and resolution conferences
· Provide guidance to internal business partners regarding legal billing and invoice review processes
· Identify opportunities to improve accuracy, consistency, and efficiency within the invoice review process
