Job description

Responsibilities
Kforce has a client in Cupertino, CA that is seeking a Battery Modeling & Algorithm Engineer. The Battery Modeling & Algorithm Engineer will be expected to use a combination of advanced mathematics, machine learning, electrical engineering, and control engineering knowledge to perform the follolwing duties. Duties:
  • Review and track testing execution and collaborate with test engineers to address any testing issues
  • Define, inspect, modify testing protocols to ensure successful collection of required testing data
  • Investigate test issues and improve testing plans to address them
  • Suggest testing SOP changes
  • Develop scripts for post-processing test data.
  • Develop ETL pipelines to ensure uninterrupted analysis and storage of all relevant test data
  • Inspect and improve existing modeling tools and codebase to ensure correct and accurate modeling results
  • Develop new modeling tools and propose new model frameworks to accurately capture battery electrochemical behavior
  • Develop tools for batter performance visualization
  • Maintain modeling inventory, recording modeling assumptions and their impact on model quality
  • Evaluate model parameters providing reports highlighting key findings for each relevant model, and their anticipated impact on product performance
  • Conduct model scaling activities, connecting model parameters with design properties
  • Validate existing battery control algorithms and models using collected test data
  • Evaluate and improve battery control algorithms to improve their accuracy and capture new battery behavior
  • Run battery simulations and generate reports summarizing relevant findings
  • Contribute to development of battery simulation software
  • Contribute to development of battery data visualization
  • Propose new modeling and simulation methods to improve accuracy, speed, and scope of battery simulation
Requirements
  • To be considered for this position, candidates must have experience in a similar role, or they must possess significant knowledge, experience, and abilities to successfully perform the responsibilities listed
  • Relevant education and/or training will be considered a plus
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
