Unlike staff journalists, freelancers work independently and contribute articles, reviews, and features to various publications, websites, or media outlets. Their work can include vehicle test drives, industry news, interviews with professionals, and coverage of automotive events. Freelance automotive journalists must stay updated on industry trends and often pitch story ideas to editors or clients.
