Position Overview

Free Life Counseling, LLC is actively seeking a dedicated and empathetic Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our team. This full-time remote position offers the opportunity to provide specialized care to individuals navigating the complex journey of trauma recovery. As a vital member of our organization, your expertise will help shape the lives of trauma survivors, enabling them to overcome their challenges and achieve lasting wellness.

About the Organization

At Free Life Counseling, LLC, we focus on delivering high-quality outpatient mental health services. We are committed to fostering a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for our clients. Our practice specializes in addressing a range of traumatic experiences, particularly post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. We pride ourselves on adopting a trauma-informed care approach that promotes healing and builds resilience through a compassionate lens.

Work Environment

This position operates in a fully remote setting, utilizing telehealth technology to reach clients wherever they may be. We provide our therapists with the tools necessary to conduct assessments and therapy sessions through secure, HIPAA-compliant platforms. This flexibility not only fosters work-life balance but also allows our therapists to connect with a diverse client base outside of traditional office settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth, trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients' trauma histories, facilitating the development of tailored treatment strategies.
  • Design and implement individualized treatment plans that prioritize trauma recovery and resilience, making use of evidence-based modalities.
  • Utilize therapeutic interventions including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to guide clients through their healing journeys.
  • Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, providing a safe space for patients to express and process their trauma, while fostering coping skills and emotional regulation.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists and crisis intervention specialists, to ensure cohesive care and support for clients during all phases of treatment.
  • Provide immediate crisis intervention and support, offering effective strategies to handle trauma-related emergencies.
  • Educate clients and their families about trauma responses, available resources, and coping mechanisms to empower them in their recovery process.
  • Maintain meticulous, confidential documentation in accordance with professional and legal standards, ensuring clarity and compliance in all patient interactions.
  • Engage in regular professional development activities, case consultations, and team meetings to enhance skills and improve service delivery.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of this role centers on clients coping with severe trauma and the effects of various trauma-related disorders. You will work intimately with individuals who have endured challenging experiences, impacting their mental health and overall well-being. This role requires a nuanced understanding of the complexities of trauma and the ways it presents uniquely in each individual.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
  • A current and valid license as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of New Jersey.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of post-licensure clinical experience.
  • An established understanding of trauma-related disorders and effective trauma-informed therapeutic practices.
  • Proven experience in applying trauma-focused therapies and interventions to assist clients.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating a compassionate and non-judgmental demeanor towards clients.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills, with proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • A collaborative spirit suited for a multidisciplinary team environment.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working with diverse populations and understanding cultural nuances in trauma.
  • Familiarity with contemporary research and best practices in trauma therapy.
  • Previous engagement in professional development and continuous learning in mental health topics.
Compensation and Benefits

This position offers an attractive annual salary ranging from $90,000 to $100,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:

  • Healthcare benefits to support your physical and mental well-being.
  • A retirement savings plan featuring employer-matching contributions.
  • Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday pay to ensure work-life balance.
  • Professional liability insurance coverage for peace of mind.
  • Opportunities for continuing education reimbursement and ongoing professional development.
  • A collaborative and supportive work atmosphere that prioritizes your career growth.
Career Growth Opportunities

At Free Life Counseling, we value the continuous growth of our team members. We provide pathways for advancement within our trauma-informed practice, enabling therapists to pursue specialized certifications, leadership roles, or even further education in the mental health field.
