Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough trauma-informed assessments to understand each patient's history and formulate appropriate treatment strategies.
  • Design and implement individualized treatment plans targeting trauma recovery, resilience enhancement, and skill-building.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions based on evidence-based methodologies, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
  • Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions that empower patients to process their trauma and develop effective coping mechanisms.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists and allied mental health professionals to ensure holistic care and cohesive treatment pathways for our clients.
  • Provide crisis intervention support during emergencies related to trauma, ensuring patients receive timely assistance.
  • Educate patients and their families on trauma responses, coping strategies, and available resources for ongoing support.
  • Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation in alignment with all legal and ethical standards.
  • Engage in case consultations, team meetings, and ongoing professional development activities to enhance trauma-informed care practices.
  • Stay informed about current research advances and treatment methodologies in trauma therapy to continuously improve patient care.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on trauma survivors from diverse backgrounds facing complex challenges such as PTSD and dissociative disorders. Free Life Counseling seeks to help these individuals reclaim their lives by offering personalized treatment plans that address unique needs and facilitate genuine healing.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure in the state of New Jersey as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT.
  • A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience is preferred.
  • Expertise in trauma-related disorders, treatment modalities, and resilience-building practices.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering trauma-focused therapeutic interventions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, exhibiting a compassionate, non-judgmental demeanor.
  • The ability to maintain composure and effectiveness in high-stress situations.
  • Proficient in utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant software applications.
  • A collaborative spirit, with enthusiasm for working within a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Experience

It is advantageous to possess experience in trauma-focused therapies, including methods such as EMDR and TF-CBT. Familiarity with crisis intervention techniques and the ability to manage patient care effectively during emergencies will be viewed favorably.
