Job description

Job Title: Manager-in-Training (MIT) – Leadership Development Program
Department: Store Operations
Reports To: Store Director / Director of Operations
FLSA Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Overview:

Frazier Farms Market is proud to launch a dynamic new leadership development program designed to build the next generation of Store Leaders. The Manager-in-Training (MIT) Program is an immersive, hands-on experience that offers candidates the opportunity to rotate through each of our 11 store departments, gaining a deep and comprehensive understanding of operations, leadership, and customer service at every level.

Participants will work side-by-side with experienced leaders and team members, learning the unique functions of each department, mastering day-to-day operations, and developing the skills necessary to successfully run a department or store in the future.

Upon successful completion of the program, candidates will be eligible for promotion to open roles such as Assistant Store Manager or Department Manager. While there is no guaranteed placement or specific timeline, graduates of the program will be prioritized for internal leadership opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in structured training rotations across all 11 departments, including Front End, Produce, Grocery, Meat, Deli, Bakery, Vitamins, Dairy, Frozen, Bulk, and Receiving.
  • Learn all operational functions within each department, including ordering, merchandising, scheduling, inventory control, and compliance.
  • Shadow and assist Department Managers and Store Leaders in daily operations and team supervision.
  • Demonstrate strong work ethic, adaptability, and a commitment to learning and leadership development.
  • Provide outstanding customer service and model Frazier Farms’ values and culture.
  • Complete assigned projects, training checklists, and performance evaluations throughout the program.
  • Uphold safety, cleanliness, and operational standards across all departments.

Qualifications:

  • Prior retail, grocery, or customer service experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong leadership potential with a desire to grow into a management role.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be flexible, self-motivated, and able to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Willingness to train in multiple store locations if required.
