Job description

Position Summary
 
We are seeking an experienced Fraud Management Department Manager. As the leader of Fraud Management, you understand how to mitigate, control and plan ahead on proactively prevent and handle fraud. You'll be the primary expert on how to stop fraud as it occurs and educate others on proactive prevention of fraudulent cases. The Fraud Management Department Manager serves as the first line of defense, and reports directly to the Enterprise Risk Division Manager.
 
This position is located at our HSFCU Headquarters in Downtown Honolulu.
 
Base Annual Salary Range: $97,200 - $127,575 per year
The posted range reflects the anticipated base pay for this position, with final compensation determined based on experience, skills, and internal equity. 
 
Essential Duties:
  • Fraud Prevention & Control Execution: design, implement and continuously optimize fraud prevention strategies and controls. 
  • Fraud Detection & Monitoring: Responsible for monitoring fraud analytics and proactive surveillance capabilities to identify suspicious activity,  emerging fraud schemes and potentially unauthorized transactions. 
  • Fraud Investigation & Case Management: handle escalated fraud cases that are high priority and advanced complexity.
  • Operational Fraud Decisioning: make decisions regarding claims, account closures and other potential actions to mitigate fraudulent losses. 
  • Fraud Operations Reporting: report operational fraud metrics to division and relevant business units. 
  • Develop and deliver fraud training & organizational awareness..


Minimum Qualifications/Experience

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in one (or more) of the following: fraud prevention, fraud investigations, financial crimes, risk management, compliance, financial services or related field. 
  • 1+ year of managerial experience leading a team. 
  • Strong understanding of financial institution operations, procedures and regulatory knowledge. 
  • Experience in program development and management..


Preferred Qualifications/Experience

  • Experience in payment systems.
  • Previous experience in reporting and data analytics.
