POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Fraud Manager, the Fraud Investigations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the Fraud Investigations team and supporting investigations related to allegations of financial fraud, including check fraud, kiting, wire transfer fraud, check scams, new account fraud, identity theft, employee defalcation, financial misconduct, and loan fraud perpetrated within or against the Bank.
This role helps ensure investigations and related Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) filings are completed timely, escalated when warranted, and maintained with appropriate records and audit trails to support internal and external audits and regulatory examinations. The Fraud Investigations Supervisor maintains oversight of case portfolios, supports management reporting, provides guidance on fraud-related issues, and helps ensure individual and team performance and quality control standards are met.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee and manage employee workload for case investigations of potentially fraudulent activity reported through various channels, including review of investigator analysis of transaction history, online logins, checks, wire activity, Zelle, and related information to support prompt and thorough investigations and regulatory filings such as SARs.
- Assist and support internal areas of the Bank when fraud is detected in products, services, or transactions, and coordinate with external sources such as law enforcement and other financial institutions to mitigate losses and comply with subpoena and 314(b) requests.
- Develop and maintain training programs for employees and customers to identify red flags, fraud schemes, and methods to mitigate losses and harm to the financial institution and customers.
- Assist the Fraud Manager and BSA/Fraud Officer in developing and producing reports for Executive Management and the Board of Directors related to fraud issues, department resources, employee workload, fraud trends, system upgrade needs, significant cases, and SARs.
- Evaluate, document, and discuss performance with employees to ensure goals are met and to foster professional development.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies, including interviewing, hiring, training and managing employees, planning and assigning work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, and addressing employee complaints and concerns.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Four-year bachelor’s degree required, or commensurate banking experience of no less than 5 years.
- 5+ years of banking experience combined with management and Fraud Mitigation/BSA responsibilities.
- Excellent and proven knowledge of applicable banking laws and regulations related to fraud investigations.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain effective working relationships with executives, managers, legal staff, employees, regulators, and examiners.
- Knowledge of general banking policies and procedures, with the ability to identify and define problems related to internal controls, policies, and procedures; collect data; establish facts; draw valid conclusions; and make appropriate recommendations for corrective action.
- Ability to remain composed and make appropriate decisions under stressful conditions while managing a range of responsibilities and defined timetables.
- Ability to train and supervise personnel, shift attention quickly and accurately from one matter to another, prioritize multiple projects, and complete work on time.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of fraud typologies and trends, regulatory communications, system functionality, and fraud-related reporting practices preferred.

$87,000 - $124,500 annually
This role is eligible to participate in an incentive plan, based upon company, business, and/or individual goal achievement and performance.
