Job description

Manager, Franchise Operations Excellence

The Manager, Franchise Operations Excellence is responsible for driving consistent restaurant execution across the franchise portfolio through operational assessments, field coaching, market engagement, performance follow-up, and cross-functional support. This role serves as the operational counterpart by translating franchise strategy into consistent restaurant execution while identifying opportunities to improve operational performance, strengthen brand standards, and support franchise success. Travel is approximately 60%.


  • Franchise Field Operations & Brand Standards 25%

Conduct restaurant and market-level operating assessments to validate execution, guest experience, food quality, and operational standards.

Coach operators, identify execution gaps, and protect Red Robin brand standards through field engagement.

Escalate material operational or brand risks.

  • Franchise Performance & Business Support 20%

Prepare Business Health Review materials, operating summaries, and performance insights.

Track action plans, operational issues, and performance trends to support ongoing business reviews.

Maintain visibility to restaurant-level risks and follow-up.


  • Franchise Portfolio Support & Continuous Improvement 20%

Support the ongoing franchise operating cadence through market engagement, restaurant visits, and operational follow-up.

Partner with franchisees and Restaurant Support Center teams to implement new standards, tools, programs, training, menu changes, and operational initiatives while continuously improving franchise support processes and operational consistency.

Identify opportunities to simplify processes and improve execution.

  • Cross-Functional Partnership & Franchise Advocacy 15%

Represent restaurant-level operational needs across cross-functional teams.

Coordinate support to remove operational barriers and improve execution.

Ensure franchise impacts are considered before initiatives are deployed.

  • Franchise Communications, Resources & Operational Readiness 15%
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with franchisees, serving a primary point of contact for operational matters.
  • Act as a liaison between franchisees and the Restaurant Support Center, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
  • Address franchisee concerns promptly and professionally, drawing upon your operational expertise and company resources to find solutions that align with brand standards and mutual success.

Other duties as assigned 5%

Support strategic initiatives, restaurant visits, and franchise projects as business needs evolve.

Minimum Experience & Education

  • 5+ years of restaurant experience with exposure to service, culinary, and/or supervisory responsibilities. Red Robin experience is preferred.

**Position requires travel up to 30% and flexibility to communicate with stakeholders across multiple time zones.


Compensation Range: $97,400.00 - $134,000.00
