Job description

Who we are at Osmo:
Osmo is a digital olfaction company, on a mission to give computers a sense of smell to improve the health and wellbeing of human life. Why? Our sense of smell both enriches and saves lives, and has a deep and direct connection to our emotions and memory.
Olfactory Intelligence has applications across industries including fragrance, manufacturing, security, medicine, and more. We believe in the power of automation and thoughtfully applied AI/ML to solve problems beyond the reach of human intuition alone. Osmo is headquartered in Elizabeth, NJ, with an additional office in Somerville, MA.
Position Overview
Osmo is seeking a Commercial Sales Manager focused on growing our fragrance oil business across fine fragrance, home, and personal categories.
This role is designed for someone who understands both the traditional fragrance house model and where the market is changing. The ideal candidate knows how to navigate opportunities outside the legacy account structure, identify whitespace, and build meaningful client relationships with brands looking for a more agile and commercially minded fragrance partner.
Candidates will be supported by Osmo's AI- and LLM-powered development ecosystem, integrated alongside the craftsmanship of our master perfumer team. We are looking for someone who embraces both technology and creativity-and who is excited by the opportunity to help shape a more modern fragrance model.
This individual should be equally comfortable discussing market dynamics, fragrance direction, and business strategy.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and grow a portfolio of approximately 8-12 active oil clients.
  • Drive new business development across mass, masstige, and prestige fragrance categories.
  • Identify underserved brands and market inefficiencies that create opportunities for Osmo.
  • Partner with perfumers and evaluators to guide clients toward commercially successful fragrance directions.
  • Lead fragrance presentations, evaluations, and client development conversations.
  • Build long-term relationships with founders, product teams, and commercialization partners
  • Leverage existing industry relationships and networks to accelerate growth opportunities.
  • Maintain strong awareness of competitive market activity, emerging brands, and category shifts.
  • Help evolve how Osmo approaches modern fragrance commercialization models.
Qualifications
  • 3-5+ years of fragrance house experience.
  • Existing network within the fragrance oil buying community that can help accelerate growth at Osmo.
  • Exposure to both large and entrepreneurial fragrance environments preferred.
  • Experience managing smaller or emerging accounts with a strong hunting mentality.
  • Excited to inspire clients and move them toward new opportunities with Osmo.
  • Strong understanding of fragrance market dynamics and client pain points.
  • Commercially minded with an entrepreneurial approach.
  • Experienced nose with confidence guiding clients through scent selection.
  • Comfortable with technology and curious about the evolving role of AI in fragrance development.
  • Energized by the unknown and motivated by building what's next.
  • Strong presentation and relationship-building skills.

Base Salary: $100k-120k + Commission
If this role inspires you we'd encourage you to apply. We are committed to recruiting, developing, and retaining an incredible team optimized for a diversity of thought, background, and approaches.
For all Full-Time Employees, compensation is just one component of Osmo's total rewards approach, which is designed to support the well-being, growth, and long-term success of our team members. Depending on the role, this may include base salary or contract-based pay, along with access to health, dental, and vision coverage; a 401(k) retirement savings plan with company match; flexible paid time off and company holidays; and equity or incentive compensation for eligible roles. Actual compensation will vary based on factors such as experience, skills, location, internal equity, and other relevant business considerations. Osmo regularly reviews pay ranges and compensation structures to ensure they remain competitive, equitable, and aligned with current market data.
All employment decisions and responsibilities are determined based on current ability and your ability to grow, without regard to race, color, gender identity, sex, sexual orientation, religion, age, marital status, physical, mental, or sensory disability, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.
