Fractional Senior Controller
Dallas, Texas
Interim | Part Time

Soni's client is seeking a Fractional Senior Controller to lead core accounting and finance operations during a transitional period. This individual will provide oversight across cash management, financial operations, compliance, budgeting, reporting, and team leadership while ensuring the integrity of day-to-day accounting activities.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead day-to-day accounting and finance functions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across operations.
  • Provide oversight of cash flow activities, banking administration, and liquidity management.
  • Direct accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliation processes.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, expense monitoring, and variance reviews.
  • Manage financial reporting activities, including GAAP-based reporting requirements.
  • Support tax filings, regulatory submissions, and audit-related requests.
  • Evaluate accounting processes and strengthen governance, controls, and compliance practices.
  • Partner with executive leadership on financial analysis, business planning, and operational priorities.
  • Guide and mentor accounting staff while maintaining accountability and performance standards.
  • Drive workflow improvements, automation opportunities, and operational enhancements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • CPA strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
  • 5+ years leading accounting teams and departmental operations.
  • Prior experience in a Controller, Senior Controller, VP Accounting, Director of Accounting, or comparable leadership role.
  • Background managing cash operations, banking activity, and financial oversight.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and expense management.
  • Strong understanding of financial controls, audit support, and regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated success leading teams, improving processes, and partnering with senior stakeholders.
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel and financial systems/ERP platforms.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and decision-making abilities.
