Fractional Manager information

What is a fractional manager?

Fractional managers are experienced professionals who provide part-time or temporary management support to organizations, often working with multiple clients at once. They typically fill leadership gaps, guide strategic initiatives, or oversee specific business functions without the company needing to hire a full-time manager. This arrangement allows businesses to access high-level expertise and leadership at a fraction of the cost and commitment of a permanent hire. Fractional managers are commonly used by startups, small businesses, or companies undergoing transition or rapid growth.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a fractional manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Fractional Manager, you need extensive experience in business operations, leadership, and strategic planning, often supported by a relevant degree and a track record of success in management roles. Familiarity with project management tools (such as Asana or Trello), CRM systems, and financial analysis software is typically required. Strong communication, adaptability, and stakeholder management skills help you integrate quickly into diverse organizations and drive results. These skills are crucial because Fractional Managers must deliver rapid impact and value while working part-time or on a contract basis across multiple companies.

How do fractional managers typically integrate with existing teams and company culture?

Fractional Managers often join organizations on a part-time or project-specific basis, which means quickly acclimating to the company's established workflows and team dynamics is essential. They usually start by conducting meetings with key stakeholders to understand current challenges and priorities. Effective communication and adaptability are crucial, as Fractional Managers need to build trust and rapport with full-time staff while delivering results within a limited timeframe. Many organizations support this integration by providing clear onboarding processes and access to internal resources, ensuring the Fractional Manager can make a meaningful impact from the outset.

Job description

Job Summary

Founding Fractional Chief Executive Officer

Location: Illinois

Position Type: Fractional Executive Leadership Assignment

Reports Directly To: Chairman of the Board of Directors

This is not an interim management assignment. This is not a consulting engagement. This is a unique opportunity to help execute, finance, and launch a founderโ€‘led enterprise entering its capital formation and operational execution phase.

The successful executive will work directly with the Chairman of the Board of Directors to execute the Company's comprehensive 120โ€‘Day Plan of Execution, which includes leading the Company through its initial capital formation stage.

Primary Responsibilities

The Founding Fractional Chief Executive Officer will work directly with the Chairman of the Board of Directors and will provide executive leadership during the Company's capital formation and startup execution phase.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Leading and executing the Company's comprehensive 120โ€‘Day Plan of Execution.
  • Working with the Chairman of the Board to support the successful completion of the Company's initial Bridge Debt Loan Financing Facility.
  • Providing disciplined executive leadership during the Company's transition from capital formation to operational execution.
  • Assuming additional executive responsibilities as outlined in the Company's Executive Employment Agreement following the execution of the Company's Confidentiality, Nonโ€‘Disclosure, and Nonโ€‘Compete Agreements.

To protect the Company's confidential business strategies, intellectual property, financing initiatives, and proprietary operational plans, detailed executive responsibilities will be disclosed only after the successful candidate executes the Company's standard Confidentiality, Nonโ€‘Disclosure, and Nonโ€‘Compete Agreements.

Executive Qualifications

The successful candidate should possess significant executive leadership experience serving as a:

  • Chief Executive Officer
  • President
  • Chief Operating Officer
  • Founder or Coโ€‘Founder
  • Managing Director
  • Senior Executive responsible for enterpriseโ€‘wide leadership and execution

Candidates should demonstrate a proven record of executive leadership, organizational development, strategic execution, executive team building, capital formation support, and enterprise growth.

Executive Characteristics

The ideal executive will be:

  • Highly disciplined.
  • Operationally focused.
  • Exceptionally organized.
  • Calm under pressure.
  • Resultsโ€‘oriented.
  • Ethical beyond reproach.
  • Comfortable making difficult decisions.
  • Accountable.
  • Collaborative.
  • Committed to longโ€‘term enterprise building.
Executive Compensation

Annual Base Salary: $700,000.

Annual Executive Performance Bonus: Up to forty percent (40%) of annual base salary based upon the successful achievement of Boardโ€‘approved strategic objectives.

Reimbursement: One hundred percent (100%) reimbursement of authorized executive business expenses.

Benefits Package: Comprehensive executive benefits package including:

  • Health insurance
  • Dental insurance
  • Vision insurance
  • Life insurance
  • Retirement plan

Paid Time Off: Five (5) weeks of paid annual executive vacation.

Career Path: Opportunity to transition from Founding Fractional Chief Executive Officer into the Company's longโ€‘term Chief Executive Officer position, subject to mutual agreement of the Chairman of the Board of Directors and the successful executive.

Compensation Payment Terms: The Founding Fractional Chief Executive Officer's annual base salary shall begin accruing immediately upon the mutual execution of the Executive Employment Agreement. Payment of all accrued compensation shall commence upon RLD Sustain Holdings Corporation successfully securing, obtaining approval for, and receiving funding equal to at least seventyโ€‘five percent (75%) of its initial Bridge Debt Loan Financing Facility, unless otherwise authorized by the Chairman of the Board of Directors. Upon achieving this funding milestone, all accrued compensation shall be promptly paid through the Company's normal payroll process, after which the Chief Executive Officer shall continue to receive compensation in accordance with the Executive Employment Agreement.

Work Location: In person, Crete, IL 60417

Work Arrangement: Fullโ€‘time

This opportunity is specifically intended for an experienced executive who understands how exceptional enterprises are built from their earliest stages through disciplined leadership, organizational excellence, and longโ€‘term execution.

Most executive opportunities involve managing companies that have already been built. This opportunity offers something far less common. It offers the opportunity to help build an enterprise from its earliest stage alongside an engaged founder and Chairman of the Board while establishing the leadership culture, operational discipline, governance framework, and execution systems that will guide the Company's longโ€‘term success.
