Mustang Cat is urgently hiring skilled Heavy Equipment Technicians/Mechanics for shop and field service roles in Lufkin, Texas. If you’re an experienced diesel equipment technician ready to work on Caterpillar construction equipment and specialize in repairs, this is your opportunity to join a respected leader in Texas heavy equipment service.

What You’ll Do as a Heavy Equipment Technician:

As an Advanced Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you’ll work independently or alongside senior technicians to repair and maintain Caterpillar machinery for customers across the construction and oilfield sectors. Responsibilities include:

• Perform diagnostics and repairs on heavy and light Caterpillar equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
• Rebuild or service Frac transmissions and drivetrain components

Requirements:

• Must own tools required to perform advanced heavy equipment repairs
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Associate degree or technical certification preferred
• Previous mechanic or military experience required
• Strong understanding of electrical, fuel, and hydraulic systems
• Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and execute advanced repairs independently

Strongly Preferred Experience:

Frac transmission rebuild and assembly
• Welding and fabrication (MIG, arc welding, gouging, torch use)
• Experience with hydraulic pumps, valves, and motor systems
• Service training through OEMs, tech schools, or dealer programs
