Job description

Duties * You will serve as a member of the Air Operations Department Position management program to promote efficient and cost-effective use of resources. * You will provide contract management and government oversight of Air Traffic control services, Airfield Ground Electronics Maintenance, * You will advise the Air Operations Officer on opening and closing the airfield based on facility status, personnel availability, and equipment capabilities * You will manage the Airfield Vehicular Operator Program (AVOC) and develop guidance for training, licensing, and rules and operational procedures. Requirements Conditions of employment * Must be a US Citizen.

* Must be determined suitable for federal employment. * Must participate in the direct deposit pay program. * New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.

You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

* This position is considered Key/Non-Combat Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support of the expeditionary requirements in other than combat or combat support situations. * This is a Mission Essential position.

You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision. * You may be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift. * This position may require periods of travel away from the assigned airfield for meetings, conferences, and training.

Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing technical expertise in the management of Airfield pavement design and inspection procedures; 2) Assisting in administrative processes, and developing policies with airfield support activities; 3) Providing both in the air and on the ground services to support operations for foreign military/government aircraft operations. 4) Establishing procedures for airfield safety procedures and restrictions on airfields.
