Job description

Job Summary

Viking is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Yard Operator to join our team. The Yard Operator will support daily operations by maintaining a safe and organized yard, managing material inventory, and assisting with morning crew load-outs. This role is essential to ensuring operational efficiency and crew readiness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain overall safety, cleanliness, and security of the yard
  • Unload delivery trucks and properly store materials
  • Add materials to inventory and maintain accurate inventory records
  • Assist with loading construction crews with materials each morning
  • Operate forklifts and other yard equipment safely and effectively
  • Coordinate material movement between yard locations as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Forklift operation experience
  • Ability to lift and move materials regularly
  • Dependable and punctual with strong attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • CDL (Commercial Driver’s License)
  • Bilingual: English and Spanish
  • Familiarity with FPL (Florida Power & Light) electrical materials
