Job description

Business Title:
- Adoption Recruiter - Wendy's Wonderful Kids
Job Purpose:
- To find permanent, loving families for children in foster care who are waiting to be adopted, specifically focusing on children who are considered harder to place due to age, sibling groups, or special needs. This role is part of the Wendy's Wonderful Kids program, a signature program of the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize child-focused recruitment strategies to identify and engage potential adoptive families for children in the foster care system.
- Conduct thorough assessments of prospective adoptive families, including home studies, background checks, and interviews to ensure a safe and suitable match.
- Collaborate with caseworkers, social workers, and other child welfare professionals to gather comprehensive information about each child and their needs.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with families throughout the adoption process, providing support, guidance, and resources.
- Participate in community outreach events and activities to raise awareness about adoption and recruit potential families.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all recruitment activities and family interactions.
- Adhere to all relevant regulations, policies, and ethical guidelines related to child welfare and adoption.
- Actively participate in Wendy's Wonderful Kids program training and professional development opportunities.
- Advocate for the best interests of children in foster care waiting for adoption.
- Collaborate with the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption to meet program goals and reporting requirements.

Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, or a related field.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of two years of experience in child welfare, preferably in adoption or foster care.
- Experience working with children and families experiencing complex trauma.
- Demonstrated success in recruiting and placing children in adoptive homes.
- Experience with Wendy's Wonderful Kids program preferred.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to build rapport with children, families, and colleagues.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of adoption laws and regulations.
