Job description

The Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategic marketing plans that raise awareness and drive revenue growth across the Phantom and Forza Silicon brands globally. This role owns marketing-influenced pipeline metrics: lead-to-order conversion, and revenue contribution and requires fluency in both broad B2B marketing and highly technical, relationship-driven marketing for engineering audiences. The two brands serve fundamentally different buyer personas and engagement models: Phantom targets end-user researchers and engineers; Forza Silicon targets camera OEMs, defense/space integrators, and semiconductor design customers. The role collaborates closely with VRI Sales, Product Management, BU leadership, and the AMETEK divisional marketing team, and coordinates with division shared resources in India for technical marketing support.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
  • Develop unified and brand-specific marketing strategies aligned with business objectives, enhancing brand visibility and driving growth.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Product Management, and BU leadership to set data-driven marketing direction for products, services, and solutions.
  • Perform market, segment, and competitive analyses to build investment cases and align commercial and technical resources with strategic direction.
  • Coordinate marketing inputs for the multi-year strategic plan; provide feedback to BU management for plan preparation and presentation.
  • Gather and synthesize market intelligence from trade shows, customer interactions, Voice of Customer surveys, sales feedback, and digital engagement to inform strategy and product roadmap.

Product & Application Marketing
  • Work with Product Management to develop and document compelling positioning, competitive differentiation, and battle cards for both brands' product lines.
  • Lead go-to-market planning for new product launches - launch sequencing, channel enablement, sales tools, and launch KPIs.
  • Develop application-specific campaigns targeting key use cases across end-markets; capture real-world examples and translate them into marketing assets (video, case studies, application notes, white papers).
  • Collaborate with Sales, Product Management, and technical resources to refine value proposition messaging across all channels.

Digital, Content & Lead Generation
  • Develop and execute comprehensive digital marketing strategies (SEO, GEO, AIO, SEM, social media, email, web, multimedia) that support campaigns and revenue growth goals.
  • Manage and optimize websites, eCommerce, and digital presence; leverage Generative AI tools to support content creation and rotation.
  • Create high-quality content across formats (video, web copy, social posts, email, print, technical publications) aligned with each brand's value proposition and SEO/GEO/AIO best practices.
  • Leverage Salesforce CRM and Pardot for campaign management, lead nurturing, customer segmentation, and closed-loop reporting; continually improve marketing automation and Sales & Marketing Operations processes.
  • Develop and manage digital presence on China-specific platforms (Baidu, WeChat) to support brand visibility and lead generation in Greater China.
  • Monitor marketing spend and report on KPIs (cost per lead, cost per opportunity, marketing ROI) with full budget transparency; analyze data from Google Analytics/Ahrefs to evaluate performance and inform optimization.

Brand Architecture
  • Own the brand architecture across the VRI portfolio - ensure clear, consistent brand identity for Phantom and Forza Silicon.
  • Maintain brand guidelines including visual identity, tone, and messaging frameworks appropriate to each brand's distinct audience.

Sales Enablement & Installed Base Growth
  • Develop sales enablement tools that enhance solution selling and empower global sales teams to achieve revenue targets.
  • Execute marketing programs targeting the installed base to drive upsell, cross-sell, and service attach rates across the customer lifecycle.
  • Partner with Sales and Service teams to identify expansion opportunities, build renewal and retention campaigns, and develop customer success content.
  • Own aftermarket marketing KPIs - service revenue contribution, attach rates, renewal rates, and customer lifetime value.

Budget & Team Management
  • Manage the marketing budget to optimize ROI and revenue impact across digital and traditional channels; own spend allocation, reallocation decisions, and performance-to-budget reporting.
  • Directly manage an international team, vendors, and agency partners; coordinate with division shared resources in India for content creation, multimedia production, digital campaigns, and technical marketing support.

Qualifications:
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive B2B marketing experience with strong digital and traditional channel expertise, demonstrating success in driving pipeline and revenue outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience marketing technical or engineered products to B2B buyers in industrial, scientific, or defense markets.
  • Proven ability to tie marketing activity to pipeline and revenue outcomes.
  • International team leadership experience with either direct or indirect reports.

Required Skills
  • Strong understanding of SEO, AIO, GEO, SEM, and social media marketing strategies.
  • Experience in traditional marketing - trade shows, events, PR, technical publications, and print collateral.
  • Solid analytical skills and experience interpreting data using Google Analytics or similar tools.
  • Excellent writing, storytelling, and copywriting abilities.
  • Strong understanding of website content management systems (CMS).

Preferred Skills
  • Direct experience with Salesforce CRM, Pardot, and marketing automation principles.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud and SEO tools (Silktide, Ahrefs).
  • Experience in semiconductor, image sensor, CMOS, or related photonics/instrumentation technologies.
  • Experience in high-speed imaging, optics, camera systems, or marketing to engineering/R&D audiences in a technical sales environment.
  • Proactive learner with demonstrated interest in Generative AI and emerging digital marketing technologies.
