Job description

Director, Freight Forwarding Sales - US, East Region

The Director, Freight Forwarding Sales - US, East Region will lead the Regional Sales Team in a player/coach role and support our ongoing aggressive market share efforts within the US. The Regional Sales Director will manage a portion of the freight forwarding sales team in the US and be responsible for increasing business opportunities and generating revenue by executing new sales and upselling current existing strategic customers to increase revenues and profitability across their market. This position will also oversee development and implementation of growth-oriented sales penetration strategies across the territories within their region.

Key Accountabilities
  • Manage and oversee sales executives and conduct regular one-on-one review sessions with team members to assess performance, provide feedback, and support professional development
  • Work collaboratively with the Freight Forwarding leadership team to develop and implement strategic sales plans aligned with organizational objectives
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for the sales team and consistently monitor performance against these metrics
  • Develop and execute strategies to drive revenue growth for all freight forwarding products, targeting global, regional, and transaction accounts
  • Act as a player/coach by actively participating in sales activities while providing leadership, guidance, and coaching to the sales team
  • Develop and implement strategies to penetrate key accounts, expanding our presence by cross-selling and fostering long-term relationships
  • Recommend enhancements to improve win rates and identify strategic opportunities for sales potential
  • Responsible for the management and leadership of an engaged team, promoting collaboration and ensuring that each employee is developed and evaluated against goals and objectives which are aligned, specific, measurable, attainable yet challenging, realistic and time bound
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
  • BS/BA degree in Business or a related field
  • Minimum of eight years of experience in sales management in a business-to-business environment
  • Proven experience managing sales teams
  • Strong analytical skills and experience managing analytically rigorous programs.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry best practices in sales and sales operations
  • Experience within a similar role within Freight Forwarding managing a team of salespeople
  • Exceptional customer orientation and ability to develop solutions that meet both customers’ and company’s expectations

Salary Range: $165,000 - $178,000
