About the Role:
ย 
As an Air Freight Export Operator, you will be responsible for the end-to-end coordination of international air export shipments. Working in a fast-paced environment, you will ensure that cargo moves efficiently and compliantly from origin to destination while delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining strong relationships with airlines, handling agents, customers, and overseas partners.

What will you do / Duties & Responsibilities:ย 
ย 
  • Manage and coordinate international air export shipments from booking through to final departure.
  • Arrange airline bookings and secure capacity with carriers to meet customer requirements.
  • Prepare and process all export documentation, including Air Waybills (AWBs), commercial invoices, packing lists, export declarations, dangerous goods documentation, and certificates where required.
  • Ensure compliance with all export regulations, customs requirements, aviation security regulations, and airline procedures.
  • Coordinate cargo collections, warehouse handling, screening requirements, and delivery to airline terminals.
  • Monitor shipments proactively and provide customers with timely updates on shipment status.
  • Liaise with airlines, handling agents, customs brokers, overseas offices, and customers to ensure smooth shipment execution.ย 
  • Resolve operational issues quickly and effectively to minimise delays and maintain service levels.
  • Issue pre-alerts and distribute shipping documentation to overseas agents and consignees.
  • Maintain accurate shipment records within operating systems and ensure data integrity.
  • Review and process supplier invoices and customer billing in accordance with company procedures.
  • Support the sales team with quotations, operational advice, and customer opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with company SOPs, KPIs, and quality standards.
  • Stay informed of market conditions, airline schedules, industry developments, and regulatory changes.
  • Assist with projects and additional duties as required
Qualifications:
ย 
  • ย Minimum 3โ€“5 years' experience in air freight export operations within a freight forwarding environment.
  • ยทStrong understanding of international airfreight procedures, airline operations, and export compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of customs export processes and international trade documentation.
  • Experience using freight forwarding and cargo management system
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience handling time-critical, high-value, or specialist cargo would be advantageous.
  • Dangerous Goods (DG) certification would be beneficial.
  • Preferable background with the marine industry although not essential.
  • Authorization to work in the USA
Language Skills
  • Fluency in English is required.ย 
  • Knowledge of Spanish and additional languages is a plus.ย 
Computer Literacyย 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
