Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)

Clewiston Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is now hiring a dynamic Assistant Director of Nursing, who is committed to providing the best life and care for our residents. Applicants should have strong leadership and supervisory skills. Position Overview:

The Assistant Director of Nursing will manage administrative and functional areas or programs within the Nursing Department. The ADON supports the overall operation of the facility, assuring adherence to company policies, standards of nursing practices, and government regulations, in order to promote the highest quality care for our residents and patients.

Responsibilities of the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON):

  • Meet the nursing medical needs of all residents

  • Responsible for coordinating infection control

  • Responsible for educating the staff

  • Assist with compliance and ensure effective communication withal levels of nursing staff

  • 24 hours on call

  • Coordinate and direct the total planning for nursing services

  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of general nursing theory and practice

  • Responsible for the accurate and timely completion of medical records

  • Assist with interviewing, hiring and orienting of new nursing staff

  • Oversee daily staffing process

  • Maintain flexibility with work schedule to address unpredictable needs

Requirements of the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON):

  • Must be currently licensed Registered Nurse (RN). Must maintain an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing throughout employment.

  • Must have strong leadership skills and be able to lead a team of nursing staff, as well as help foster a team atmosphere with the nursing division

  • Liaisons with residents, families, support departments, etc. to adequately plan for resident needs

  • Must have the ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the facility
