Job description

WHAT MAKES US EPIC?
At the core of Epic's success are talented, passionate people. Epic prides itself on creating a collaborative, welcoming, and creative environment. Whether it's building award-winning games or crafting engine technology that enables others to make visually stunning interactive experiences, we're always innovating.
Being Epic means being a part of a team that continually strives to do right by our community and users. We're constantly innovating to raise the bar of engine and game development.
CONSUMER
What We Do
We deliver the most innovative gaming experiences possible to players around the world. Whether through incredible content and partnerships, world-class storytelling and events, or managing products enjoyed by millions of players, the Epic Consumer organization is responsible for all strategy, go-to-market and commercial efforts that make Epic Games a world-class leader in building the future of entertainment.
What You'll Do
Epic is seeking a Partnerships Director to lead, grow, and execute key partnerships across talent for our first-party games. This role will lead the sourcing, development, and execution of interactive IP integrations with talent partners-including athletes, creators, entertainers, and talent agencies-combining business development, creative deal-making, and product collaboration to bring authentic experiences to life across Epic's ecosystem. It's a unique opportunity to help shape industry-defining experiences and expand Epic's cultural impact through world-class partnerships in music, sports, entertainment and beyond.
In this role, you will
  • Lead day-to-day engagement with external partners, to understand their overall goals and ensure all campaign elements reflect both partner objectives and Epic's brand and legal standards
  • Act as Epic's external face within the talent industry, developing strong relationships with entertainment partners, talent agencies, talent, and brand partners, and representing Epic at major industry events and summits
  • Partner closely with Product and Consumer teams to ensure partnership initiatives align with Epic's broader player, product, and business objectives - having a seat at the table, influencing product strategy into actionable roadmaps and measurable outcomes for commercial outcomes
  • Collaborate with development and creative teams to identify, pitch, and translate talent partnership ideas into compelling gameplay offerings across titles like Fortnite and Rocket League
  • Direct, source, and negotiate new talent partnerships while managing inbound and outbound licensing opportunities across sports, music, and entertainment
  • Manage end-to-end execution of partnership campaigns, serving as the key liaison and coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery, asset management, go-to-market support, and streamlined partner communication
  • Collaborate with Epic teams to identify, pitch, and onboard high-profile partnerships for Fortnite, from proposal and presentation through execution and launch
What we're looking for
  • 8-10+ years of experience in talent deal-making and partnerships, with a track record of closing and executing high-profile deals
  • Deep understanding of the talent landscape - with robust understanding of digital consumer products and gaming culture. Must have led partnership marketing, product, or gaming campaign execution
  • Deep existing relationships and standing within the sports, music, and talent industry, with sharp POV on how to creatively position and storytell with these audiences
  • Proven experience in taking product ideas to vision/pitch - requiring strategy background combined with business development, business affairs, and partnership execution. Must have demonstrated experience in sourcing/pitching new opportunities, and driving complex deals from concept to execution
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to multitask across projects while managing shifting priorities calmly and discreetly with senior cross-functional teams
  • Use of good judgment, delegation, critical thinking, problem-solving skills and collaboration, especially in stressful situations, and with the ability to remain calm under pressure, is essential
  • Experience building internal and external-facing partnership overviews, go-to-market plans, decks, recaps, and other presentations preferred
  • Proven history of demonstrated P&L fluency, along with understanding of full marketing funnel and analytics involved in licensing activations
  • Entrepreneurial self-starter who represents Epic with credibility and momentum across partners and categories.
  • Comfortable with frequent travel (25~40%) for meetings, events, and industry engagements
