Job description

Job Title: Information Security Engineer

Location: Las Colinas, TX - Charlotte, NC - Chandler, AZ

Duration: 6-month contract + Possibility to Extend and/or Convert to FTE

Pay Rate: $55 - $60/HR (W2 Only)

Job/Role Description:


  • This role supports firewall engineering, security policy management, network security infrastructure, and operational troubleshooting in a large enterprise environment.
  • Perform hands-on configuration, management, administration, and troubleshooting of firewalls, with primary focus on Palo Alto Networks platforms (majority of the environment) and Fortinet.
  • Design, implement, review, and optimize security policies and rulebases to align with organizational standards and compliance requirements.
  • Utilize Palo Alto Panorama for centralized management, including template stacks, device groups, policy hierarchy, logging, reporting, and related operational tasks.
  • Apply strong Layer 3 networking knowledge to support secure network architectures and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Provide operational support, monitoring, and troubleshooting for network security infrastructure, with Splunk experience beneficial for visibility and incident handling.
  • Participate in occasional after-hours maintenance, change activities, weekend support, and on-call responsibilities as needed, with flex time provided to adjust schedules following extended support periods.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to the ongoing stability and performance of enterprise network security systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate and support security controls within the broader infrastructure.

Required Qualifications


  • 4+ years of Information Security Engineering experience
  • 2+ years of hands-on Network Security Engineering experience
  • 2+ years configuring, managing, and troubleshooting firewalls
  • 2+ years of Security Policy Design experience
  • 2+ years of Palo Alto Panorama experience
  • Strong Layer 3 networking knowledge
  • Hands-on firewall engineering and administration experience

Preferred Qualifications


  • Strong Palo Alto experience (highly prioritized)
  • Fortinet experience (significant plus)
  • Cisco routing and switching experience
  • Splunk experience (beneficial for troubleshooting, monitoring, and operational visibility)
  • Large enterprise or financial services experience
