Job description

UFP Concrete Forming Solutions is a leading supplier of lumber, plywood, and value-added custom formwork solutions for the concrete construction industry.
Position Summary
Designer III supports the design and execution of concrete formwork projects by preparing accurate drawings, assisting with project coordination, and ensuring designs are production-ready. The position works closely with Sales, Design, and Operations teams to interpret construction documents, complete design tasks, and help keep projects on schedule. This role focuses on executing assigned work, maintaining accuracy, and supporting overall project success.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Engineering Support
  • Create and revise concrete formwork designs using Revit, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD
  • Interpret architectural and structural drawings to develop accurate layouts
  • Perform basic design calculations (spans, loads, cantilevers) under guidance
  • Assist with optimizing designs for efficiency and manufacturability, including CNC/custom components
  • Review drawings, layouts, and order details for accuracy prior to production

Project Coordination
  • Support project teams with day-to-day coordination of active jobs
  • Assist with tracking project timelines, deliverables, and updates
  • Help prepare documentation for project kickoff and customer approvals
  • Coordinate with internal teams (Sales, Production, Operations) to keep work moving

Field & Customer Support
  • Provide basic technical support to internal teams and customers
  • Assist in resolving design or layout issues as they arise
  • Support jobsite needs as requested, including clarifying drawings and design intent
  • Help track and document changes to project scope

Operations Support
  • Monitor production status and report progress updates
  • Assist with project closeout activities, including documentation and material returns
  • Participate in process improvements and team support activities

Qualifications
Required
  • High school diploma (technical training or associate degree preferred)
  • 10 years of experience in design, drafting, construction, or related field
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents
  • Basic math and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and/or SolidWorks
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to follow direction and complete tasks in a timely manner

Preferred
  • Experience with concrete formwork or construction systems
  • Familiarity with CNC or custom fabrication processes
  • Exposure to commercial or civil construction projects
