Job description

Formulation Associate

Job Summary

The Formulation Associate will support the preparation, processing, and manufacturing of pharmaceutical formulations in a controlled GMP environment. This position will perform hands-on formulation activities, operate manufacturing equipment, follow batch records and SOPs, and ensure all work is completed accurately and in compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and formulate pharmaceutical products according to approved batch records, SOPs, and manufacturing procedures.
  • Perform weighing, measuring, mixing, compounding, and addition of raw materials and ingredients.
  • Operate and monitor formulation and manufacturing equipment.
  • Set up, clean, sanitize, and maintain formulation equipment and production areas.
  • Accurately document manufacturing activities, material usage, equipment status, and process information.
  • Follow GMP, SOP, safety, and environmental requirements at all times.
  • Perform in-process checks and assist with sampling as required.
  • Identify and report equipment, material, or process issues to appropriate personnel.
  • Assist with troubleshooting formulation and manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain accurate and complete batch documentation and manufacturing records.
  • Handle raw materials and finished products according to established procedures.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, and other departments to support production activities.
  • Participate in equipment cleaning, line clearance, and manufacturing area preparation.
  • Support investigations, deviations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities as assigned.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant manufacturing environment.
  • Follow proper gowning and aseptic practices when working in controlled or classified areas.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or a related life-science field preferred.
  • Previous experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, chemical, food manufacturing, or other regulated manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Understanding of GMP, SOPs, and good documentation practices preferred.
  • Experience with laboratory or manufacturing equipment is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately follow written procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to accurately enter and maintain production data.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods during manufacturing operations.
  • Ability to lift and move materials and equipment as required.
  • Ability to wear required PPE and gowning for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in controlled manufacturing environments.
  • May require occasional overtime, weekends, or extended hours based on production schedules.
