Position Summary
With limited direction or supervision, this machine set-up/operator position requires the set-up and/or operation of header equipment. The incumbent will possess and demonstrate the skills necessary to maintain production requirements and quality standards. Continuous Improvement of processes and products are an ongoing function of this position.
Position Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:
  • Operating understanding of cold heading machines.
  • Set up and operate Formax 34's, 44's, 54's.
  • Remove and Install Punch & Die Packs, Transfer, and Dies as needed
    (Rough In Changeover).
  • Set-up, adjust, and operate equipment as required.
  • Read and understand prints.
  • Perform first piece inspection, monitor the quality of all parts, and make adjustments to maintain quality standards.
  • Maintain clean, orderly work area
  • Train team members on all work standards.
  • Assist other operators as needed
  • Perform the duties required to record data for SPC, ISO/IATF 16949 documentation.
  • Suggest process improvement ideas.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

  • Qualifications-Education/Experience
    Required:
    • Ability to use all gauges and gauging techniques required.
    • Knowledge in IATF16949 and ISO 14001 requirements.
    • Ability to set-up and operate one or more sizes/types of manufacturing equipment.
    • Ability to consistently meet production and quality standards
    • Ability to demonstrate the knowledge and understanding of all required operator documentation.
    • Good communication and teamwork skills, including written communication as needed.
    • Ability to identify routine problem causation and correct routine problems.
    • Leadership skill and ability to train others.
    • Use math skills for blueprint reading, gauging and SPC.
    • Demonstrate the understanding of the manufacturing process and machine requirements to perform basic and repetitive work assignments.

    Preferred:
