Forging Production Supervisor


Location: Redford, MI

About the Opportunity


A well-established steel forging operation in Redford, MI is seeking a 2nd Shift Forging Production Supervisor to lead forging, sawing, and hot work operations.


This role is ideal for someone with strong hands-on forging experience who understands plant flow, scheduling, safety, and team coordination. Prior supervisory experience is highly preferred. However, highly experienced forging professionals ready to step into a leadership role will be considered.


This position plays a critical role in driving production output, maintaining safety standards, and developing the 2nd shift team.


What Youโ€™ll Do


โ€ข Lead and oversee 2nd shift forging, sawing, and hot work operations

โ€ข Organize and assign work to maximize productivity and employee skillsets

โ€ข Schedule production activities and ensure on-time completion of jobs

โ€ข Select appropriate stock materials for production runs

โ€ข Ensure communication between production and maintenance teams

โ€ข Monitor output, quality standards, and production metrics

โ€ข Support hiring, training, discipline, and team development

โ€ข Enforce safety procedures and PPE compliance

โ€ข Collaborate with sales and other internal departments as needed

โ€ข Drive continuous improvement in workflow and operational efficiency


What You Bring


โ€ข 5+ years of steel forging experience

โ€ข Deep understanding of forging processes (press, hammer, hot work, sawing)

โ€ข Prior supervisory experience preferred

โ€ข Open to experienced forging operators seeking leadership growth
