Emplify Health by Gundersen is seeking a part-time RN to join our highly committed and dynamic Emergency Services team as a Forensic/SANE Coordinator as we provide excellent quality care to over 68,000 patients of all ages annually.

What You'll Do:

As the Forensic Nurse/SANE Coordinator you will function as an Emergency Services registered nurse and Forensic Nurse Examiner (FNE) who is accountable for the coordination of hospital forensic nursing and the FNE program. You will coordinate and interact with multidisciplinary persons, departments, and outside agencies to ensure that the program functions smoothly and delivers quality patient-centered care to victims of sexual assault, child sexual abuse, elder abuse, and domestic violence to begin the healing process. You will be expected to demonstrate excellent clinical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and leadership skills and make decisions consistent with current state legislation, hospital policies, department protocols/guidelines, the Wisconsin Chapter of Forensic Nursing protocols/guidelines, and the Wisconsin Nurse Practice Act.

Emergency Services, a Level II ACS-verified Trauma Center, is a high-energy, patient-centered environment consisting of 45 total patient exam rooms including ten Urgent Care rooms, five resuscitation/trauma/critical care rooms, and three dedicated Behavioral Health rooms that serve every patient population from infancy to the elderly. Patients have 24-hour access to laboratory, X-ray, and surgical services. We are also a Stroke Center with 24/7 neuro-interventional capabilities and a Chest Pain Center with 24/7 interventional cardiac catheterization lab capabilities. Emergency Services, a 2023 Emergency Nurses Association Lantern Award recipient, is recognized and acknowledged for excellence throughout the department through metrics and patient experience that is difficult to find anywhere else in the nation.

What's Available:

  • Part-time, 60-hours biweekly (0.75 FTE); ability to work 0.9 FTE if desired. Will orientate fulltime for 12 weeks

  • Will be scheduled as regular Emergency Services RN for 0.6 FTE providing direct patient care with the remaining 0.15 FTE dedicated to the SANE program. Flexibility in the ratio of FTE is possible if desired

  • 12-hour mid shifts from 10a-10p, every third weekend and holiday rotation

  • Starting pay of $38.01 per hour and up, based on your years of experience, as well as generous shift/weekend/holiday differentials

What You'll Need:

  • A minimum of an Associate's degree in Nursing

  • An active Wisconsin or multi-state RN license upon start

  • Current Infant-Adult Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers

  • Ability to provide compassionate care to patients of all ages, including toddlers and adults

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment

  • Prior Emergency Medicine and SANE RN experience preferred
