Job Overview:

  • The Phlebotomist II represents the face of the company to patients, drawing quality blood samples and preparing specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures.

Requirement/Must Have:

  • Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills to include pediatric and geriatric.
  • Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
  • Committed to all Policies & Procedures including dress code, Employee Health & Safety, and guiding principles.
  • Must be able to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise good judgment.
  • Must have reliable transportation, valid driver license, and clean driving record, if applicable.
  • Travel and flexible hours required to work multiple locations with minimal notice.
  • Capable of handling multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
  • Must demonstrate superior customer focus and ability to communicate openly and transparently.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
  • Maintain a safe and professional environment.
  • Perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.
  • Verify patient demographic information and ensure proper labeling of specimens.
  • Maintain required records and documentation.

Qualification And Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred, required in certain states.
  • 1-3 years phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
  • Customer service experience in a retail or service environment highly preferred.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience.
